Quietly situated in the Aberdeenshire village of Clatt, at the heart of the village stands the Auld Kirk dating back to 500AD. A place of great historical interest and worth a visit. You will have the opportunity to meet the resident ducks, horses and hens, as well as enjoying the strawberries and raspberries grown on the farm. Explore the Bennachie Forest and the Bennachie Hills on a series of fine walking trails where you can enjoy some fabulous views over Aberdeenshire. The Gordon Way trail is great for wildlife spotting. Visit many famous castles, battlegrounds, ruins and ancient monuments. However, for those wishing to take it a little easier there is plenty of opportunity for the fisherman to enjoy a peaceful cast or golfers to tee off. Whether it's walking, biking, touring or just relaxing it can all be enjoyed in one of the prettiest areas of Scotland.

Stepping inside this delightful conversion situated next door to the owner’s property; although your privacy is assured. You are welcomed by the spacious porch, the perfect place to take off your outdoor clothing and walking boots. Continuing through to the hallway, you will find the shower room with shower and WC. A spacious bedroom with single bed and a futon. Leading from the hallway is the stylish open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, as you enter the well-equipped kitchen area there is an electric oven and hob, microwave, washing machine and fridge with ice compartment. Moving into the dining area there is a dining table with chairs, for the family to enjoy meals together. Entering the lounge area there is a TV surrounded by comfy seating where you can relax, from here there is a patio door leading to the rear garden. Back through the hallway the stairs lead to the first floor where you will find two double bedrooms and the bathroom with bath and WC.

Outside from the lounge patio door is an enclosed garden with seating area, BBQ and a chimenea. Beyond the enclosed garden there is a large grassed area where the family can enjoy a game of football or rounder's. Through the gate you are taken to the BBQ hut with charcoal BBQ and seating area, ideal for al fresco dining. There is ample off-road parking to the front of the property. There is also a dog kennel available to leave your four-legged friend for a few hours.

A very comfortable cottage, the cottage was well stocked with the basics as well as homemade bread, milk, eggs and some shortbread - very welcoming. Lovely cottage and in a beautiful spot some 20 minutes from Huntly itself. Close proximity to the east coast towns is a huge plus and worth visiting as many of these as you can fit in. Cullen in particular is an interesting town with the excellent Rockpool restaurant a must. However, book ahead.

Great week in a cracking spot. The cottage has lovely grounds and Sue and Brian are the perfect hosts. The welcome pack we were given was exceptional with warm bread and newly laid eggs the icing on the cake. The cottage was spotless and well equipped The ducks are very entertaining and a peaceful stay is guaranteed.

We loved staying at Headhouse Cottage. Everything about it suited us perfectly. Sue and Brian were so welcoming and had thought of everything from the kitchen to picnic to barbecue (the BBQ hut is FAB)! We stayed at Headhouse Farm cottage for a few nights at the beginning of June 2023. The house was lovely and the area very peaceful. The house was immaculate and there were a lot of lovely touches in the house that made it feel welcoming - it's clear the owners put a lot of thought into their guests and their comfort! Our 3 year old loved the park Read morenearby and the fairy doors, and feeding the ducks and seeing the horses. A lovely place to stay, would stay again in the future. Hide

We instantly felt relaxed walking into Headhouse Cottage and it was so quiet and peaceful that we enjoyed every moment we spent there. From watching the playful characters of the ducks in the back garden to the really thoughtful touches around the house that had been left out, we would have been perfectly content to spend our week in the cottage. What a fabulous place to stay! The hosts Sue & Brian made us so welcome with fresh baked bread and eggs and other goodies - totally unexpected. The cottage was lovely - spotlessly clean and well equipped. The private field for our dog to run freely in was the biggest bonus of all. He had the best time and is missing it already! Fabulous stay, Sue & Brian were very good hosts and provided homemade bread, coffee, milk, fresh eggs, bacon plus much more. Have never been anywhere that provided all of this within your package.
