Property code: LCC05

This beautiful holiday cottage, ideally situated in the heart of a picturesque Lake District village, is perfect for families, friends, and as a very special romantic retreat.

Cartmel is a popular and pretty village with traditional lime washed and stone built houses, shops and pubs. There’s plenty to discover in the immediate area, including a Norman priory, a beautiful river, and the popular Cartmel Races, home of the smallest steeplechase racecourse in the country. Located on the peninsula, Cartmel nestles just six miles south of Lake Windermere. There are plenty of easy walks from the village: you could climb Hampsfell with its panoramic views across towards Morecambe Bay, then descend down to Grange Over Sands or explore the tracks running through Eggerslack Woods. Among the many other highlights of this stunning area are the Grizedale Forest, the vibrant town of Kendal and the wonderful Fell Foot Park.

The unassuming exterior of Bank Court belies its fantastic interior. On entering you will find the cosy and chic lounge. Tastefully furnished and featuring an open fire, TV, DVD and iPod dock, this is a room perfect for relaxing in. Crossing the hall, a couple of steps take you down into the dining room. Set for six, this handsome room makes for a grand place to dine with your friends and family. Moving into the kitchen, you will find it fully equipped with all you need to rustle up your favourite meals, including an electric range oven with gas hobs, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, coffee cafetiere, Nescafé Dolce Gusto machine, sandwich toaster, bread maker, slow cooker and food mixer, as well as washing machine and tumble dryer. Heading up to the first floor you will find two double bedrooms. The master bedroom with king-size bed overlooks the village square and has an en-suite shower/dressing room with WC. The second comfy bedroom also features a king-size bed. Also on the first floor is the bathroom with shower over the bath and a WC. Off the bathroom is a fabulous dressing room with dressing table, armchair and chaise longue. A steep, narrow tread stairway leads up to the attic bedroom, with a king-size bed which sits under a pitched ceiling. Cosy and comfortable, there is a small en-suite WC tucked in under the eaves. Finally from the attic bedroom you duck through to the chillax room. Criss-crossed with huge oak beams there’s plenty of fabulous furniture and TV, making this a great space for sitting back and relaxing.

Really lovely styled and quirky cottage. Its the perfect location, with the sticky toffee pudding shop only paces away! Sadly no garden, but with so much around this wasnt a problem. Plenty of bathrooms and really spacious bedrooms. Would highly recommend!

Cottage was well placed for all the amenities in Cartmel including the pubs/restaurants and the horse racing track. Town busy but not overly so which in the Lakes is good. This is a cosy cottage right in the centre of Cartmel village. Great location for walking and mountain biking. The only negative is the restriction on parking. The parking permits were no longer valid after 7 Oct 2019 and we had to pay for the parking. We're older, looking for peace and quiet so it was ideal for us. There are 3 lovely bedrooms but one is up narrow stairs on the top floor so those guests have to be agile. Well equipped and comfortable cottage in a great little village with 4 pubs, 2 restaurants and a brewery! Only minor downside is the lack of outside space (e g. a garden) but with the abundance of local pubs and of course the Lakes a short drive away...not a big problem.
