This property is located just a short walk from the north-east shore of Coniston Water in the picturesque Lake District. It offers the perfect base for exploring the area, and is great for those who want to enjoy scenic walks as well as boat trips and watersports on the lake. Lying on the opposite side of the lake to Coniston village, it is nevertheless only 1.5 miles from the village centre, where visitors will find several shops and a choice of pubs, as well as Coniston Boating Centre from where a range of craft can be hired including motor boats, sailing boats, canoes, and paddleboards. Just next to the boating centre is the departure point for the lovingly restored Victorian steamers which take visitors on leisurely cruises around the lake.

On arrival at this semi-detached barn conversion property, the first room that guests come to is an elegant dining room with a large dining table and attractive dresser with beautiful views to the lake. From here, stairs lead down to the lounge, which has been thoughtfully furnished with a wood burner, comfortable seating, coffee table and TV. Returning back up the steps, guests will find a door off the dining room which leads through to the  kitchen where there is all that guests will need including an oven, hob, microwave, American-style fridge/freezer and dishwasher. The washing machine and tumble dryer can be found in a separate laundry room downstairs. The master king-sized double bedroom is located off the dining room, a wonderfully spacious room with large built-in wardrobes and views over the lake, there is an en-suite bathroom with a bath, separate shower, and WC. The remaining four bedrooms are situated on the lower-ground floor, the first of which is another super king-sized double, whilst there is also a twin room with large single beds and two more single rooms. There is a bathroom on the same floor as these bedrooms, which offers a bath, separate shower, and WC. In addition to this there are also two separate WCs, one on this floor and one on the upper floor off the dining room.

Across the driveway from the cottage, is a games room which has a pool table as well as a lovely seating area, great for playing board games and a small kitchenette with fridge. Doors from the games room open out onto the property’s attractive terrace for which there is garden furniture provided, making it a fantastic place to enjoy the beautiful view to Coniston Water. Amazing location and cottage overall. We had 4 people in our group and this worked well as its a big place. Lots of great walking options from the cottage. Games room is a nice touch too. We cooked each night and found the kitchen equipment a bit lacking and a bit tired in places but overall it was very good. For larger groups note there is only 1 Read moretv in the living room and kitchen may be a struggle for cooking for 8. Hide

Brilliant location and the cottage was superb! Recycling instructions should be clearer as main site is accessible by a short drive to Coniston. The cottage is close to a few decent treks for families and a few for more seasoned trekkers. Highly recommend in any season! Thank you for hosting us!

A beautiful house overlooking Coniston Water. Very spacious, comfortable seating, mostly well equipped and spotlessly clean. Wonderful for a group or family, in an incredible location for exploring the southern Lakes, yet out of the busy tourist areas. Recommended!

This is a fantastic location for relaxation, taking in the impressive Lakeland views and gives great access to Coniston Water for kayaking and wild swimming. All three generations of our family met their holiday needs and the cottage has all the space needed to share time together and as individuals through the outhouse and amazing gardens. the cottage and location are both excellent. It is fully equipped for family use with all the essentials in spades. Safe areas for outdoor play and fabulous views add to the holiday. The pool table came in very useful for the Lakes weather and our younger guests even switched off their tablets and Ipads to play

We loved the layout of the cottage for our large party (8 adults plus baby), and it was very comfortably furnished. We enjoyed views of the lake and Old Man Coniston, and the snooker room was a great bonus in a week of bad weather. A good location too - easy reach of Ambleside and Windermere, and lots of great walks.
