  • Tranquil location on the southern edge of the Lake District National Park
Property code: LCC32

This property enjoys a quiet location in the village of Lindale, which lies between the coast at Grange-over-Sands, and the picturesque Lake District. In the village itself there is a local pub, whilst a larger range of shops can be found in Grange-over-Sands, some 2.5 miles away. Heading north, through the fells of the Lake District National Park, visitors come to the village of Lakeside which sits on the southern shore of Lake Windermere and from where it possible to take a relaxing cruise around the lake, stopping on the way at Bowness or Ambleside, or perhaps combine the trip with a visit to the Lakes Aquarium or on the trains of the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Steam Railway.

This property offers a high standard of accommodation throughout and has been thoughtfully styled by an award-winning interior designer, ensuring that the cottage is a true one-off. Stone steps lead up to the front door which opens directly into the lounge area of the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, a wonderfully cosy space where a comfortable sofa and armchair sit under the beamed ceiling next to the warming wood burner. There is a Smart TV, as well as a hi-fi and iPod dock, all of which can be enjoyed from the dining area and kitchen, as well as the lounge. Behind the sofa, a rustic dining table sits between the lounge and the well-equipped kitchen where guests will find an oven, hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, and dishwasher. The washer/dryer meanwhile can be found in a separate utility cupboard. Open-tread wooden stairs lead from the kitchen area to the double bedroom on the first floor. This sanctuary-like space has been beautifully finished with loving attention to detail, and has its own TV/DVD, perfect for relaxing with a late-night film. Crossing the landing from the bedroom, a dressing room provides plenty of storage space for clothes, beyond which there is a contemporary shower room with a walk-in shower and WC.

There is small garden to the front of the property with bench seating, and one off-road parking space to the rear.

Welcome pack was very nice. Unfortunately its no good for tall people as upstairs was difficult, also the shower. You cant help it, but the cockerel is a pain first thing in the morning. Wi-Fi and televisions are good. Dressing gowns, nice touch.

A great small cottage to use as a base to discover the south peninsular of the lakes and beyond. Before visiting a lot of reviews stated the cottage was cold, I can confirm this isnt the case at all, extremely warm and we had to turn some of the radiators down. The welcome gift was a lovely touch and overall the cottage was very clean and cosy, espRead moreecially with the log burner on. The stairs are fairly steep so people with mobility issues/children may struggle. Hide

This is a beautiful quaint cottage which is a mixture of olde world and modern. High quality furniture and accessories. Modern bathroom and kitchen, with toiletries, handwash and cleaning products provided. Heating switched on upon arrival which was a bonus and cottage stayed warm throughout my stay. Log burner added to the cosy ambience. Stairs arRead moree very steep so care needs to be taken when descending, especially with elderly guests or people with mobility issues. Overall a cosy cottage but takes a lot of heating to keep it warm. You need to use the log burner to maintain the heat even with the central heating on. Make sure you bring plenty of logs, fire lighters, kindling and paper as none are supplied.
