A wonderful fusion of contemporary and traditional, this beautiful apartment, located in a Georgian country house, provides a relaxing rural retreat whilst being within easy reach of some of Cumbria’s finest offerings.

This beautiful apartment lies in the village of Spark Bridge. Once a flourishing little village of industry, Spark Bridge these days is a quaint and quiet village of traditional whitewashed Cumbrian cottages, which date back to the 17th century. Situated in a great location for those who wish to explore the southern lakes such as Lake Windermere or Coniston Water or if you prefer, the historic Cumbrian villages of Cartmel and Coniston are nearby which offer a range of amenities and cutting edge restaurants and bistros. There is a lovely 20 minute walk across the grounds and fields to the local pub. Situated in an area that has a vast history including some of Britain’s finest literary lights such as Tennyson, Turner and was once home to Beatrix Potter. If you are searching for something more lighthearted, the town of Ulverston is only 5 miles away and is home to the world’s only Laurel & Hardy Museum.

The drive winds through trees and gardens, and you only get sight of the house at the last minute, which is a wonderful sight. Enter the Georgian house from the lower side entrance, where a communal grand staircase sweeps it way up to the top floor. Making your way up, the vast windows let the natural light cascade in whilst letting you enjoy the view. Once you have reached the top floor, two grand columns will greet you. As you enter the apartment, the light-filled hallway is a great place to leave shoes and bags. With a modern open-plan layout, it is easy to find yourself at home here. The spacious kitchen is to one end of the apartment and has an elegant, contemporary feel. The kitchen is equipped with an oven, hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher and washer/dryer, which makes preparing your family’s favorite meals easy. After cooking up a delicious meal, you can dine with your guests at dining table which is also situated in the kitchen. The lounge can be found at the other end of the room and offers a wonderful retreat after exploring some of Cumbria’s finest offerings. With muted lighting, soft rugs and sumptuous sofas, this is a wonderful space to kick back and put on your favourite blockbuster movie. Off the entrance hall are the two bedrooms. Both are large, elegant rooms with vast windows which let the morning light flood in. Comfortable in their furnishings and fitted with king-size beds. The first bedroom enjoys views out to the main lawn and the bay and has an en-suite bathroom with a bath, large shower enclosure, basin and toilet. Whereas the second bedroom has beautiful garden views and an en-suite shower room with hand basin and toilet.

Outside you can find your own private patio area, which is a great spot to enjoy your morning coffee or a light lunch. Along with this, you can also explore the extensive grounds and find a quiet spot to enjoy a good book.

Fantastic in every way . An open , spacious apartment with wonderful views and beautifully presented. Great location within reasonably easy reach of the zoo , Ravenglass railway , Ambleside and Grasmere , so centrally located . Cant wait to go back

Summer Hill is exactly as represented in the website details, if not better. The drive winds through trees and gardens and you only get sight of the house at the last minute, quite wonderful. Once in the apartment, apart from the high class fixtures and fittings, you cant help but marvel at the huge windows and beautiful views from all aspects. CleRead morever use of overhead windows in the bathrooms and hall gives natural lighting in these inside ares, quite brilliant. I highly recommend this property. Hide

Beautiful flat, lovely decor and high end fixtures and fittings. Lovely view over the garden and hills and sea in far distance. Owners kept themselves to themselves, which was fine for us.

This is a beautiful, elegant apartment in a quiet location with stunning views. Very spacious and well equipped with excellent bathrooms and comfortable beds. Perfectly located for easy access to all the southern Lakes have to offer, no shortage of wonderful places to visit and see. Nearby Ulverston has a great variety of good restaurants . This is an amazing property, beautifully furnished, far-reaching views and very peaceful. There is absolutely no noise from traffic. The rooms have huge proportions and there are many windows which give a lot of air and space to the property. Highly recommended.

Beautiful location and views, stunning apartment and grounds. Everything you could possibly need was on hand in the apartment and it was spotlessly clean! The Prosecco, croissants and jam was a lovely gesture and much appreciated too. We will certainly be coming back again very soon.

Well appointed property, both for those wishing to self cater or just eat out. The bedrooms are superb for size and the kitchin lounge area was supplied with great views. While a little away from the main lakes area, we had a car which meant everywhere in the south lakes area was easily accessable.
