Just a stone’s throw from the local pub, this cosy cottage makes a charming bolthole for a romantic break in the Lakes.

Located in the village of Bouth, the property is within easy walking distance from one of Cumbria’s most popular pubs. Bouth itself is a peaceful village situated halfway between the southern tips of Coniston Water and Lake Windermere. Both locations offer excellent walking routes either on the flat by the water’s edge or up high where challenging climbs make for spectacular views from the top. Once you’ve seen the lakes from above, head to the boating centre to explore the area from the water in a canoe, rowing boat or motorboat.

The front door opens into the open-plan ground floor space. Contemporary in style yet with the occasional original feature, this is a cosy yet sociable space for entertaining. Prepare romantic meals for two in the spacious modern kitchen before dining at the charming table in the window overlooking the surrounding countryside. At the end of a long day on foot, retreat to the plump sofa and armchair for a relaxing evening in front of the TV. Upstairs, the double bedroom is light and airy with shaker style furniture and a pretty window overlooking the fields. There is a modern shower room with small basin and WC.

Outside there is a sunny patio garden with table and chairs and a delightful summerhouse for enjoying al fresco drinks come rain or shine. A section of the garden is enclosed with a barrier, this can be removed if necessary.

 

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Lovely stay, fabulous location. Very dog friendly and surrounded by beautiful countryside and dog walks. Very cosy however we felt the property could have been a little cleaner.

It says 1 parking space but a neighbour uses this and guests at Ash cottage; we did squeeze on the back but it left our car partly in the road all week! The garden isn't enclosed, we found a piece of trellis to block the stairs but that hardly worked so dog had to be on lead. The house is nice, cozy, but not 4 star, full of cobwebs, very basic kitcRead morehenware, the shower flooded so we contacted the owners and it was fixed that day but no store of basic amenities e.g. toilet roll so brought our own. the cottage is sole with parking to the front. If all three cottages are let, there is not sufficient parking for three cars; even if parked considerately. Either parking must be designated for this particular cottage or it must not be sold with adequate parking: even for one car.

A romantic setting, in a gorgeous little village, idyllic views and plenty of walks with the added bonus of a village pub within walking distance. The cottage was comfortable with all the equipment required for a stay away from your usual home comforts. Parking is not easy. There is not a designated place for the cottage. the location is great with a friendly pub a few steps away and within easy reach of Windermere, Coniston, and Grange. The buffet at the nearby Lakeside Railway is ideal for breakfast and snacks.

Nice cottage in a lovely location with the pub literally 2 minutes walk away. Parking is not good as locals told us it was public and not dedicated to the cottages. We struggled to park in front of the cottage in January.
