We’re thrilled to welcome this pretty cottage into our Joules Collection; look out for stylish touches throughout which highlight the quintessentially British features of this beautiful historic property.

Located midway between Buxton and Bakewell, this spot makes a perfect base from which to explore the two towns and surrounding areas. There are many excellent picturesque walks from the doorstep, nearby Monsal Dale, with its famous trail, Millers Dale and High Dale are only a short walk away. Walkers can enjoy spectacular views and the opportunity to observe an abundance of wild flowers, animals and bird life. For those seeking the grandeur of the English country houses, Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall are just a short drive from the property, make sure you stop and visit the popular Chatsworth Farm Shop and stock up on goodies.

Wandering through the beautiful garden to the door that welcomes you into the cottage straight into the beautiful dining room which is a perfect space for any celebration dinner with a wood burner providing that extra special dining experience. The farmhouse style kitchen to the right is a wonderful space to rustle up a meal for the family, get stuck into country life with cooking on the traditional Aga, electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and microwave and enjoy a lazy breakfast around the farmhouse table. Moving along the cottage there is a unique oak panelled study with comfortable seating and a wood burner, a relaxing space to unwind and chat with loved ones. A few steps lead you to the lounge with sofas to curl up on with a good book or in front of the TV/DVD with Netflix. There is a handy utility space located off the lounge with a washing machine and a shower room with shower and WC. The first floor is accessed via two separate staircases, one leading up to two king-size bedrooms with mullioned windows providing delightful views beyond the gardens, and a twin bedroom offering the same beautiful views. There is a bathroom with rainfall shower over roll top bath and opposite is a separate WC. Accessed via a separate staircase is the beautiful, bright and airy double bedroom with en-suite WC.

Outside is the icing on the cake with a large South East facing garden including a natural stone paved terrace which adjoins the property, with seating to relax and enjoy the summer sun. The large lawned gardens are studded with mature trees providing the perfect place for kids to run off some energy. Explore this amazing garden with a seating area in the potting shed with pretty festoon lights for summer evenings and a BBQ, and a further garden area with a natural fire pit perfect to sit around and cosy up in front whilst watching the stars. There is a driveway with parking for two cars and a layby opposite the property with parking for a further two cars.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

The cottage is a welcoming and relaxing place to stay and is very well equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Lots of space and facilities for 8 people. All of the windows face south overlooking lovely views and the garden is lovely A great place for a short or long stay and only 6 miles from Buxton which is a lovely town with loRead morets of amenities. This is a lovely house - comfy and well equipped with a beautiful garden. It has lots of different spaces which is great for a family group ranging from teenagers to grandparents. We had a lovely week - well situated within short drives to lovely places but also with good walks from the front door. Would really recommend the house.

This was a lovely place to stay. We had both toddlers and grandparents with us and everyone felt at home there. We were able to make the most of the local walks and found that it was a real break for our often hectic lives.

Fabulous house for a three generations holiday with a lovely garden ( In spite of the wasps from the windfall apples). Plenty of space indoors and out to be together or chill out in peace. Fabulous cottage in the most spectacular location -we had a fantastic holiday. Glorious walks in the Derbyshire countryside right from the back door and in easy commute of lots of local attractions - Chatsworth, Monsal Head etc. Cant recommend this place enough - we will be back!

Cottage has lots of character and space so whilst we had 7 adults and a child it did not feel crowded. Well equipped/ comfortable and we loved the location with lots of footpaths around the house to explore and only a 20' ish walk from the Monsale Trail / Millers Dale. Loved the views and quietness though the adjacent holiday let which could hold 2Read more0 might interfere with that. Hide

The cottage is in a beautiful location overlooking fields of sheep. The rooms were all beautifully clean and very tastefully decorated, we loved the owners style. The cottage was well equipped with everything you could need and was topped off by a stunning garden.
