Set in the splendid coastal village of Southerndown, which lies between Llantwit Major and Ogmore-by-Sea in the Vale of Glamorgan. This little-known village has the super Dunraven beach, just half a mile from the property and a lovely pub and restaurant on your walk home. The coastal path is just 400 metres from your door and offers breath-taking scenery in either direction. The remains of Dunraven Castle can be viewed, and the historic walled garden. For the discerning shopper, Cowbridge is close by with a range of independent shops and Cardiff city slightly further afield. History lovers can enjoy the fascinating museum at St. Fagans which is also within easy reach. (Please check admittance for the various attractions).

This reverse level wing of an 18th century residence is perfectly arranged to enjoy the coastal and rural landscape. The bedrooms all on the ground floor and are accessed from the hallway, there are two doubles, one with en-suite shower room with WC, and a twin bedroom. Completing the ground floor is the bathroom with bath and WC. Heading upstairs there is a large open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, this wonderful space has views of the coast and rural landscape. After a day exploring the area, relax in the lounge and enjoy the wood burner, comfortable sofas, TV, Blu-ray and CD player.  The dining area sits just off from the well-equipped kitchen with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge, dishwasher and washing machine.

Heading outside there is a private lawn which is enclosed, with furniture and also a shared lawn with more than enough room for comfort and your enjoyment. There is private off-road parking for two cars.

Lovely cottage in excellent location - walking distance to Wales Coast Path and excellent restaurant and pub. The cottage was very well equipped and comfortable. We love the upside down layout as having the open plan living space on the first floor made it light and spacious. Lovely cottage, surrounded by countryside, easy walk to Dunraven beach and coastal walks to Ogmore by the sea and onto the castle, hourly buses, if you run out of energy! A very suitable holiday cottage for a family of five adults plus a dog and a baby. Well equipped with everything we needed. So much to do in the area, lots of beaches, walks and castles. We had a wonderful week in Dancing Stones. The cottage is in a fantastic position, with beautiful countryside views and a beach nearby (clean water and swimming). There are lots of other things to see and do in the area. The cottage has been very thoughtfully designed and furnished, and we appreciated some welcoming biscuits/welsh cakes. The EV chaRead morerging point was very useful, and the enclosed garden was great for the dog. I can't think of anything to say against it. Doubtless we will return! Hide

Lovely family cottage to get away! Beautiful views and surrounding countryside. Perfect for exploring with dogs/children. Also lots to do within a short drive. The hosts were very helpful and responsive as well when we had questions. Would definitely go back!

A very generously stocked cottage which is adjacent to the main coastal road. The garden area is very small if you have large dog no issue for my Cavapoo who had a lovely stay! A cosy cottage in a great spot for walking.

Location perfect, 2 excellent beaches and lots of walking areas for our 2 dogs. There are 3 or 4 local pubs within 10 mins drive and one a few hundred yards away. The cottage was an easy drive to places further a field as well so we did explore the south coast venturing to shopping outlets and Swansea/Cardiff. Onto the cottage no issues very warm, Read morecosy and had all you required to either cook yourself or get takeaways. We had a Chinese takeaway delivered without issue. We will return. Hide

The house is on a busy road which you have to cross to get to walk to the beach theres only one shower but it does have a bath.. lots of kitchen utensils and you dont need to worry about eating in there is everything you need to cook. Comfortable beds and pillows and has a little garden too

A really beautiful cottage with incredible views just a short walk from the sea. The owners have provided everything you need from kitchen equipment to super comfy beds. Games, dvds and books. It wasn't quite cold enough to use the log burner but everything was there if we needed it. The local pub is great and serves fantastic food. A comfortable cottage with very good facilities. As we were staying there during the recent heatwave, the downstairs bedrooms were a good feature as they remained cool, allowing a good night's sleep. The welcome pack of biscuits and Welsh cakes was a nice touch.
