Many pretty towns and villages are accessible from Rockbourne, which has a friendly local pub and historic Roman villa. The pretty waterside town of Fordingbridge offers further local amenities. Also accessible by car are a wealth of popular attractions including Stonehenge and the cathedral cities of Salisbury and Winchester where history meets modern convenience.

A gravel driveway leads you to the detached single-storey property and the main entrance. Once inside you are met with a spacious lounge/diner with wood burner, making it the perfect cosy spot to relax and watch a film on the TV/DVD after a day spent exploring. The country style kitchen is well-equipped with an electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine. Just next door is a cosy single bedroom. Heading back across the open-plan lounge/diner is a stylish bathroom with shower over bath and WC, ideally placed for use by both bedrooms. Completing the accommodation is an inviting super-king-size bedroom, furnished with care in calming colours and with crisp linen, you can enjoy lazy lie-ins in comfort.

Heading outside there is a pretty patio with garden furniture offering the perfect spot for a relaxed meal. There is off-road parking available for one car to the side of the property.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Lovely place, well positioned for walking, with miles of well maintained bridle and footpaths. The local town has a good sized branded supermarket, but I would recommend the independent butcher and bread shop, in particular. The cottage is tasteful decorated and well equipped throughout. Percy's Retreat is a great place for peace and quiet. Rockbourne is a pretty village with a really nice pub. There are lovely walks straight out of the front door. Being right on the doorstep of the New Forest there are excellent tracks and small roads for cycling. Would highly recommend it.

Percys retreat offered the perfect environment for a well needed rest at the beginning of our holidays. It is simply and elegantly decorated. The kitchen is really well equipped and the beds are confortable. We would have loved staying longer. The foot path near is fabulous.
