This property is set in the beautiful countryside within the grounds of the owner’s equestrian smallholding. It is perfect for those requiring a relaxing holiday, yet it is in a great location for exploring the area.

This property is a wonderful base from which you can explore Wiltshire and the Cotswolds. The Wiltshire town of Devizes is easily accessible and offers a good selection of pubs, cafes and shops. Set within the Avonvale adjacent to the chalk downlands of Salisbury Plain, there are an abundance of picturesque routes suitable for walking and riding through this verdant landscape. Whatever the weather you are sure to find much to keep you entertained with many attractions worth a visit, including, Longleat, Lacock, Stourhead, Marlborough, Salisbury and the World Heritage sites of Stonehenge and Bath.

Upon entering the beautiful single-storey accommodation, you are welcomed into the bright and airy, well-equipped kitchen with electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and washer/dryer, a great space to prepare a meal or lazy breakfast. Leading through to the lounge/diner, which has a high ceiling and exposed beams from the original barn. The lounge area is the perfect space to relax after a day of exploring and watch your favourite movie on the SkyTV with basic package and DVD, or just snuggle up in front of the wood burner effect gas fire. When enjoying your meal in the dining area, open the French doors and let the outside in. Take the door in the lounge/dining area through to the stylish king-size bedroom where you can enjoy a good night’s sleep. Completing the accommodation is the contemporary shower room with shower and WC.

Venturing outside there is a small, enclosed, gravelled area with garden furniture and a charcoal BBQ, a perfect space to relax and enjoy a spot of al fresco dining. To the rear of the property is off-road parking for two cars.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

We found it perfect as we were visiting friends in the area. If you expect to be able to walk to a pub then you will be disappointed. But it is lovely, quiet and peaceful.

This was our second visit. Once again we found the cottage superbly equipped, with fresh eggs and bread ready for our arrival. The location was perfect for visiting our favourite sites, and Devizes is a hidden gem.

Our 3rd Visit to this cottage. Absolutely perfect if you need to escape it all. Excellent if you have a small to medium size dog as there is a fully enclosed outside area. The welcome pack provided is a great touch and the property owners are on hand, very helpful and really nice.

Curlew Cottage is a very nice and modern place with ample comfort and very nice owners! It is easily accessible, has everything two persons need - wether for a few days or longer holidays - and is situated in quiet surroundings. This cottage is the perfect place to stay if you want to explore the county.

A very quiet and peaceful location. The property was well equipped and the kitchen area spacious with plenty of storage. A good central location for exploring west Wiltshire and also east Somerset, convenient for Bath, Bradford-on-Avon and Devizes. We had some eggs left from the owners chickens which were delicious and we enjoyed meeting Wally the Read moredonkey and Barney the horse! Hide

we enjoyed our stay at Curlew lodge it was a lovely, clean and tidy place to stay and Helen and Mark where very welcoming. The cottage was a nice place to relax in but for us we chose this property because it said that there was a pub within a mile and a shop within 3 miles. we never did find the shop and the nearest pup had shut down so had to driRead moreve to other pubs further away that where very nice ,The Well and The Three Daggers but would have liked to be able to walk to a pub. Mark and Helen gave us a warm welcome. They have a fantastic cottage ideally situated for us from the hectic lifestyle of London. The location is perfect for visiting surrounding areas such as Chippenham; Melksham; Devizes; Bath; Bradford on-Avon and Trowbridge.
