This property is ideally located in the highest village in Britain with many attractions close by for a fun day out, also a delight for outdoor enthusiasts with a range of walking routes.

Perfectly located for the walkers and cyclists amongst you who want to explore the surrounding countryside on foot, or on two wheels, enjoy the amazing walks from the doorstep. There are an array of country pubs to try within a short drive to save cooking after a long day hiking the hills. Nearby, Tittesworth Reservoir is situated in superb scenery, has a wonderful children's playground and visitors centre, and is a delight for walkers, cyclists and bird watchers. Enjoy a day out at Alton Towers or visit the impressive Chatsworth House and the historic town of Buxton. Within easy reach are Matlock Bath and Carsington Water, while further afield is the market town of Ashbourne. Also, nearby, the Manifold Trail, while golf, horse riding, cycling and sailing are all available within 7 miles.

Stepping inside the cottage to the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner providing a warm welcome with huge vaulted ceiling and charming exposed stone walls. The well-equipped kitchen is a great social space to prepare a meal with electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer and microwave to enjoy your meal head to the dining area with seating for two and plan the next day’s adventure. Relax in the lounge area after a long day of exploring the area with comfy seating and wood burner, for those cooler evenings, where you can watch your favourite movie on the TV/DVD and enjoy the far reaching views. Completing the ground floor is the stylish shower room with shower and WC. When you’re ready for bed, take a trip up the spiral staircase to the mezzanine style, double bedroom for a good night’s sleep, you may even stay in bed a little longer and enjoy the views of the valley.

Heading outside there are six different seating areas in various spots to enjoy different views, there is even a charcoal BBQ, perfect for a spot of al fresco dining.

It was the first time we had visited and the owners couldnt have been more welcoming. We spent New Years Eve there and it was exactly what we were looking for, its a perfect location - great if you are looking for rural countryside with lots of walks, and local pubs with great food within a short drive away! we took our dog and he absolutely loved Read moreit too! Lovely, cosy and very dog friendly cottage. The location is an away-from-it-all escape with beautiful views, but also within a short driving distance to the main Peak towns. The cottage is immaculate, the hosts very welcoming and friendly, and the animals on the small holding also very welcoming and friendly!

We can't recommend Axe Edge highly enough. From start to finish Agnieszka and Ian were fantastic hosts. The views were stunning too. The location was great, we were within an easy drive of everywhere we wanted to go.

Loved the cottage. It was so comfortable, and warm. The kitchen was very well equipped with everything one could want, and a super oven and hob and microwave. The shower worked so well. The bed was so comfortable. The owners were so helpful and charming, and had lit the wood burning fire on the evening I arrived. The property was very well equipped for our stay. The space was beautifully decorated and equipped with modern amenities. The building was excellent, especially as it is dog friendly. Layout is bedroom overlooking the downstairs with spiral staircase. Large lounge, kitchen and bathroom near to front door.
