Absolutely perfect spot for a super chilled holiday. Especially sitting on the deck taking advantage of the river view and wildlife, watching the tide coming in. Such a cosy cottage. I would sum up by saying if you get the opportunity to visit Boathouse Cottage take it. It's an absolute delight. I would make one proviso, the stairs probably aren't for the infirmed or maybe extremely elderly. We're 74 and 67 and we were fine. Being so close to the river is fascinating and mesmeric as it's tidal and so flows both ways. Quick easyRead more walk (5 mins) into town and the Sunday lunch at the Royal Hotel, just up the road, is a must. Loved it. Hide

Cottage very basic and stairs awfully steep! Not ideal that the fridge door was broken and would fall off whenever opened! The front door was hanging on which made it difficult to open/lock! Overall property could do with some serious TLC!

A little disappointed with the price we paid, we've stayed in better properties for less money. Cutlery, plates and pans where greasy which needed washing before we used them. The most important thing to mention is the stairs, they are very dangerous if you are older. Perhaps there should be a picture of them on the website. The property is on the east side of the river so to get to shops and restaurants etc you always have cross the bridge. But having said that, it isnt too much of a problem. The great thing about the pRead moreosition of bungalow was that the river is at the end of your garden and the Tarka Trail is opposite. Parking ,under bridge, first left up hill. Hide

This property is not suitable for the mobility challenged , especially the stairs as they are very steep and have access challenge to the bathroom. Similarly steps to the decking outside are to be taken with great care.

Lovely cottage and good location if you like cycling or walking along the trail. If you get good weather sitting outside is lovely too. Steep stairs and no private parking space could make it difficult for old people. I would recommend bring your own lighter for the cooker, tea towel and hair dryer too.
