Although advertised for dogs to stay you have to drive elsewhere to realistically walk the dog. Entrance to property down steps off uneven paving care must be taken. Would not recommend for people uneasy on their feet.

A great little cottage in a very good location just off the A1 and perfect for exploring northern Northumberland. It had everything necessary for my weeks stay despite being so compact. The courtyard caught the afternoon sun so was ideal to sit out with a drink at the end of the day.

Ideal for two people with 2 small dogs, and was 4 miles to Bamburgh and the beach. The cottage was clean and comfortable with a small enclosed garden. . There was no washing machine, which means lots of clean clothes and dog towels are necessary, as depending on the weather you could end up lots of wet dirty clothing, if you are staying a whole weeRead morek. Cooking facilities are good with plenty of kitchen equipment if you decide to eat in. Bed is a small double, could be a squeeze if over 6 ft. Hide

A lovely cottage, a great base to be out and about, not far from the A1, easy to get to Bamburgh castle, Alnwick, and Seahouses, and Lindisfarne and not even to far to get to Berwick-upon-Tweed. Highly recommend.

Cottages are in a beautiful location and easily accessible by car to the beautiful surrounding villages and coastline. It was a shame we couldnt walk the dog from the cottage, we would have been walking on a quite busy country road. No 1 had everything you need for a short stay if you dont mind limited space, good for a base. Bed is low with limiteRead mored space around it so wouldnt suit everyone. If staying again Id book no2 or 3, more space and private garden to rear. Hide

Very clean property. Good location. Nice little sun trap courtyard, handy with our dogs. Shower not very hot, shower pressure very low. This is a lovely little property but unfortunately our stay was spoilt by the extremely uncomfortable bed. A better mattress and shower would have resulted in a 5 star review.

I stayed at 1 Bamburgh Gate with my 2 dogs over bonfire weekend to escape the fireworks where we live, and it worked!! I didn't hear a single firework all weekend. We had nice long walks on the beautiful beach at Bamburgh (only a 10 minute drive and free parking) before heading back to our cosy little cottage where I stoked up the log burner. The cRead moreottage was very cosy, comfortable and fully equipped. We had a lovely, peaceful weekend and both dogs loved it too. We'll be coming back next year. Hide
