This coastal cottage is a fantastic home-from-home with direct access to the sandy beach, close to National Cycle Network, and attractions.

Located at the southern edge of the peaceful seaside hamlet of Low Hauxley, this light property is a short walk from popular Amble. With plenty of restaurants, bistros, ice cream parlours and cafes, Amble is perfect for enjoying a restorative meal after a long day of touring. Also, within easy reach is Warkworth village, home to medieval castle ruins, and a range of independent shops, galleries and eateries. Set out on foot to explore Low Hauxley Nature Reserve or have a go at the range of water sports available at the Coquet Shorebase Trust Water Sports Centre.

Inside, the accommodation is bright and spacious with a comforting home-from-home feel throughout. The kitchen/diner is a light and airy room with modern units, a large dining table and a patio door to the garden. Elsewhere, on the ground floor are two well-presented bedrooms, one twin and one super king-size with dressing table and French doors opening onto the patio. The bedrooms share a downstairs shower room. Upstairs, the lounge is a fantastic room with wooden flooring, comfortable seating, TV and patio doors opening onto a sunny balcony with sea views. On the first floor, a double bedroom benefits from an en-suite bathroom with shower. A second double bedroom is accessed via the balcony and features a luxury en-suite bathroom with shower, offering an additonal private space for a further two guests at an extra cost.

Outside there is a large, enclosed patio with table and chairs for enjoying al fresco meals in the sunshine. There is also a large secure shed for storing bikes, diving equipment and wetsuits.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Stunning location with direct access to the beach. We were a party of two with two dogs so there was plenty of space but would be cosy with six people! Lovely walks in both directions with Amble within walking distance.

Situation absolutely perfect. Nice and warm upstairs, but a little chilly downstairs, could do with some more rugs in the double bedroom. Expensive, but Im sure New Year will be expensive everywhere. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the towns of Amble and Warkworth are lovely for strolling and sightseeing.

We had a wonderful time at the cottage. It was very comfortable and clean. It had wonderful views from the lounge and the balcony. The owner was very friendly and helpful, suggesting places to visit and to eat etc. Excellent for dogs, the beach only a few yards away. All in all we had an excellent stay and would go back.

We had a super week at Beacombers Retreat. Ady and Lorraine, the owners, were very helpful and friendly. The cottage was very clean and comfy and was perfect for our family of 5. It was superbly located right next to the beach, where our dog loved to play!

Fabulous location for beach, walks and cycle track. Lovely clean accommodation with Sky TV. We didnt want to come home, neither did the dogs. Great little sun trap at side of property to sit out and also outside tap, hose to wash dogs down. Owners live next door and they were very friendly and helpful.
