This small white-washed traditional fisherman’s cottage is an ideal coastal getaway for couples visiting Northumberland.

Situated in a quiet corner of Seahouses, the cottage is a short walk from the villages harbour front, beaches, shops, restaurants and cafes and is perfect for those wishing to just relax or as a base for exploring Northumberland and the Scottish Borders.

Once you have finished exploring the village you can take a boat trip to the spectacular Farne Islands to spot the resident puffins and grey seals or set out on foot to follow the coastal path north to picturesque village of Bamburgh. In Bamburgh you can visit the magnificent castle, once home to the Kings of Northumbria, the RNLI Grace Darling Museum or just explore the village and its stunning beach, Bamburgh also has a number of lovely shops, pubs, restaurants and tearooms, a particular favourite is the Copper Kettle which is highly recommended.

Also within easy reach are the dramatic castles at Alnwick, Dunstanburgh and Warkworth, the Holy Island of Lindisfarne, the glorious beaches at Beadnell, Embleton and Alnmouth and perhaps for the more adventurous, the Simonside and Cheviot Hills. A little further afield, amongst other places to visit are the lovely villages of Rothbury, home to stunning Cragside Hall and grounds, and Kelso, home to the ruined abbey and Floors Castle.

Having been refurbished for the 2020 season, this charming cottage is cosy and welcoming with a light and airy feel throughout and retains many of its original features.

The kitchen is compact but well-equipped with everything you should need for your stay, including an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge and washing machine. The tastefully furnished lounge/diner provides comfortable seating and lighting, dining table and chairs, Freeview TV and DVD player, a selection of DVDs and books and a newly installed traditional wood burning stove set in the original fireplace and on a natural slate hearth. This welcoming room is ideal to relax in after a long day exploring.

Narrow stairs lead to the first floor and the cosy double bedroom which features the original wooden flooring (with rug), new bedroom furniture with ample storage and a newly refurbished fully tiled en-suite bathroom.

The property comes with a small gated area at the front.

As with many of the properties in Seahouses there is no on-site parking and so a parking permit for one vehicle is provided, allowing guests to park in Seahouses’ main car park and any of the other Northumberland County Council managed car parks whilst you’re out exploring this wonderful county.

Well behaved and house trained dogs are welcome and come with a charge of £20 each per full or part week.

Nice quiet cottage, very easy walk to amenities and seafront. A good retreat and a perfect base to explore the area. The cottage owner was helpful and easy to deal with.

This is a delightful little cottage for two. Very cosy and allows 2 dogs which was great for us. It is situated just off the main street so close to all the fabulous restaurants, pubs and shops. We found the old railway line that provides a great circular walk back along the stunning beach. There is no outside space but we didn't find it a problem Read moremight miss that in a hot summer day though. We'll definitely go back. Hide

The cottage is perfect for 2 people. Good sized living and bedroom. Lots of hot water. The kitchen is well stocked . The shops are a 2 minute walk. Parking was easy. Lots of walks can be done straight from the cottage. The bus stop is also very close. I went to Berwick for a day. Like being on a tour bus. Excellent views!

When we first arrived we were a bit disappointed as the cotrage is very small but once we were settled we found the cottage had everything we needed. In a good location. The bed was very comfortable which is always a bonus.

This fairly basic but comfortable cottage is in a convenient location at the top of the town, adjacent to the Links Hotel (which serves good meals, and allows parking to unload and load). A permit for the large car park at the other end of town is provided, with the bonus of being able to park in other Council car parks in Northumberland. Lovely small dog friendly cottage in a quiet corner and dog friendly. The kitchen was more than adequate though we didnt cook at all. It was good to have a few starter things left for us. Thankyou. The living room and bedroom were comfortable and the heating in the living room and bedroom kicked in quickly. The property accepts dogs but note that there isn't a garden so you will have to walk your dog for it's toilet needs. Seahouses is a great central location from which one can explore miles of glorious beaches in either direction. The town is a bit charmless, but the food shops are excellent. Little Flores is situated close to the centre and with easy access to Bamburgh and Beadnel.
