Located in a peaceful residential setting, this property is a short walk from the local shop and village pub, where you will find delicious meals and a roaring open fire. Set out on foot to explore the local countryside, which takes in rolling fields and beautiful woodland. A short drive will bring you to the Northumberland Heritage Coast, where watersports and fantastic coastal walks can be enjoyed. Wildlife lovers should head for Newton Pool Bird Reserve or jump on a boat at Seahouses to visit the puffins and seals of the nearby Farne Islands.

Inside the accommodation is stylish and inviting, decorated in a contemporary style with Scandinavian and coastal influences. Prepare meals in the stylish modern kitchen area, which offers wonderful rural views and contains everything you should need throughout your stay. The dining area nearby features ambient pendant lighting and Scandinavian-style furniture. At the end of a long day, relax and unwind in the inviting lounge area, where you will find two leather sofas, a cosy wood burner, Smart TV and fantastic views towards ancient woodland through glass patio doors. This property offers three well-presented bedrooms, one double with en-suite shower room, one twin and one single with an additional roll-out bed for a sixth guest if required. The bedrooms are light and airy with oak flooring, fresh decor and modern furniture. There is also a tiled family bathroom with shower over the bath.

Outside there is an enclosed patio garden with table and chairs for enjoying al fresco meals in the afternoon sun with your four-legged friends. There is also a lockable shed for storing bicycles and watersports equipment, together with private off-road parking for two cars.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

This holiday cottage newton hall south is a really top class holiday cottage and is in an ideal situation for exploring Northumberland. We were a bit apprehensive about the noise of the trains but they were not bad and did not disturb us much at all.

Comfortable cottage close to attractions like the beautiful Embleton bay and pubs etc. You can hear noise of the trains Which pass on a regular basis until around 2300 hrs but we did not find it a problem. WiFi worked well and having smart tv was a plus when we could watch a film on Netflix in the evening. Bedrooms provided plenty of towels etc. OvRead moreerall good and we would use again. Also enjoyed sitting out in the west forward facing small garden with a glass of wine late afternoon/early evening. Hide

Cottage lovely and clean but a little close to the train line, high speed trains run very frequently. We did get used to it by the end of a long week.

The cottage was attractive and stylish. However due to the inaccessibility of the shower it is not suitable for elderly or frail people with reduced mobility. The positioning of the microwave is at such a high level.

Great property and good location. Should advise that the Edinburgh train line runs right past the back of the house however after a few hours we hardly noticed it. Brilliant if you like trains .

Beautiful cottage, really nicely done with great features. Very clean and bright with nice views from the living room. Very handy for the beach. It is right on the railway line, but this didn't bother us. My daughter loved running out to see the trains and said this was the best bit of her holiday! Lovely cottage with ample space and nice touches. Clean and modern feel. Good location to drive to Northumberland coast and explore the area but needed car. Lovely meal in newton on sea Friday night. Trainline runs all day but didnt affect my sleep!

Only two miles from two superb beaches and a short drive into Alnwick which was lovely. We didnt go to the shop or pub nearby but self catered and bought wine etc to drink. The wood burner was fantastic the beds were comfy and the bedding nice. It was just big enough for 4 and the en-suite made everything easier. Excellent parking fof two cars. GreRead moreat WiFi. We are out once at Thai Vine it was fantastic. V small though so You need to book. Great beaches. Great walks. Great castles. Dog loved it! Hide

Newton Halt South is a very clean and tidy cottage, dcor was pristine. Kitchen very well equipped bedrooms nicely decorated and quite spacious. A we had dogs with us, we mainly visited some of the local beaches where they could run to their hearts content. A few of the local pubs allowed the dogs in or we sat outside with them.

Newton Halt South is a lovely clean cottage we really enjoyed our stay there. We love the Northumberland coastline and Seahouses is just stunning. We enjoy a visit to The Barn At Beal on the way to Holy Island, they do lovely snacks.

Really lovely cottage and close to Bamburgh, Seahouses, Alnwick. Excellent food at The Joiners Arms in Low Newton and Jolly Fisherman in Craster. The cottage is very close to the train line but it did not bother us at all. Would certainly book the cottage again.

Modern, with everything we needed. Well kept and very clean. Enjoyed our stay at Newton Halt South. Didn't quite appreciate just how close the cottage would be next to the railway line. However you do eventually get used to the noise. Although early morning trains did wake me. Cottage is clean, modern and had all the facilities we required. Lovely Read moreto sit in the garden on a nice evening. So much to do in the area and my kids loved the nearby beaches. Hide

It was near the beaches, not far from Alnwick, Berwick on Tweed and other small towns. Lovely clean, tidy cottage. The village of Embleton a couple of miles away had four places to eat, and Newton By the Sea had two very good pubs.

Just had a fabulous week in this well equipped cottage. Great location the main rail link is close but after a few trains have passed you hardly notice them. Will definitely use again.

Excellent, spacious, bright cottage and well positioned despite railway line behind the cottages. Never took notice of the infrequent passing trains. We would return with our two collies even though they would not walk around on the laminated floor in the lounge / kitchen area, perhaps the dogs are just soft & like carpets too much. Yes we enjoyed Read moreour stay and weather was excellent for us. Hide

Just had a fantastic three night stay at this holiday home after reading the reviews, i have to say it did not disappoint the cottage has clearly been done up recently to a very high standard. There is a modern open plan kitchen, three good sides and rooms and with everything being one one level it was ideal for our 1 year old! The cottage has a grRead moreeat smart TV and free WiFi. Will have to come back as we did not even get to use the wood burning fire as the weather was so nice! Hide
