This beautiful cottage for two is ideally situated in the Derwent Valley between Northumberland and Durham in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Offering original features reflecting its 18th-century history, it is the perfect place to explore the area by foot or bike, with or without the family dog. Just over half an hour's drive to the city of Newcastle with its bustling nightlife and cultural attractions, it is also nestled among a variety of pretty villages with welcoming pubs and the Northumbrian Coastline which will leave you with many lasting memories.
The property consists of stone flooring throughout, giving it a contemporary yet traditional feel. The living and dining room has a cosy wood burning stove, comfortable sofa and armchair as well as a TV/DVD and selection of books and games. There is a dining table for two, perfect for romantic dinners whisked up in the contemporary kitchen, complete with gas hob, electric oven, microwave and fridge/freezer. There is also a washing machine. A door from the kitchen leads to the pretty patio area, a peaceful spot to sit and enjoy a glass of wine in the evening. There is also a shower room downstairs with walk-in shower, basin and WC. Stairs lead up to a wonderful Mezzanine bedroom which has a double bed and windows looking out to the countryside below.
Outside, there is a seating area with table and chairs which looks out onto the paddock, home to Bill, Ben, Loral and Hardy the four resident alpacas. There is parking for two cars as well as secure cycle storage.
Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.
