This traditional log cabin, built and furnished in a traditional style is the perfect retreat for families and couples. Close to bustling market towns and the city of Newcastle.

This sweet wooden cabin is the ideal place to base yourself as you explore the beautiful countryside and coast of Northumberland. Sitting on the edge of the National Park, it is within walking distance of two local village pubs as well as looking over the beautiful Harbottle Forest. The park is famed for its wide variety of rare and common animals, including otters, red squirrels and the Chillingham Wild Cattle. Black Grouse can be heard over the hills in early Spring and the rare Osprey is a popular summer visitor. A short drive away are the bustling market towns of Alnwick and Morpeth and for shops and dining, the city of Newcastle is a great day out.

The cabin is set out over one floor, with a lounge and dining area with TV. The kitchen area has an electric oven, microwave and fridge and use of a laundry area. There are two bedrooms, one double and a bunk bedroom with full-size bunks. A bathroom with roll-top bath, basin and WC is situated next to the bedrooms.

Outside, there is a very private garden area with garden furniture and views of the hills and river bank. Here you can sit and listen to the sounds of the river as you dine alfresco. There is an allocated parking space.

We had a fantastic time and felt the cottage was good value for money. It was warm (we turned the heating down several times!) and comfortable and very well located to access this beautiful area. We would definitely visit again

Lovely place to stay with amazing views over the hills, and towards Alwinton. Very peaceful and quiet. Only a short walk to the pub in Alwinton. We enjoyed watching the sheepdog at work in the field next door.

Such a beautiful location, if you are looking to get away from it then this is the place! Easy parking not far from the lovely town of Rothbury and 40 mins from the lovely Alnmouth beach.

Beautiful lodge with amazing views. Perfectly equipped and has great walks on the doorstep. It's situated by a military training reserve but maps are provided showing the restricted areas. We had a very friendly welcome and were given lots of useful information. Amazing holiday all round!
