Located in the town of Bampton this delightful former stable barn offers comfortable and stylish accommodation ideal for couples looking for a peaceful retreat, with excellent walks from the property.

This converted stable barn sits in the centre of Bampton, ideal for couples looking to relax and enjoy the fabulous surroundings. Exmoor National Park being just a couple of miles away offering excellent walking, pony trekking and mountain biking. Golf courses can be found in Tiverton and Minehead and fantastic beaches can be found on the north coast. The Exmoor village of Dulverton is less than five miles away with shops, pubs and restaurants. Bampton itself has a range of amenities too and quite a history from the Romans to its early Saxon origins, the Norman castle, the wool and pony trade, the 12th century church and the quarrying of local stone and is now a thriving centre used by villagers and visitors.

This quirky former stable barn has been converted to a high specification and provides traditional country living with all the essential equipment for a comfortable holiday. Enter into the open-plan kitchen/diner, which offers stylish dark grey units and granite work surfaces as well as an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine, the dining area has a good size table with seating for four, making the most of the space. Continue up the stairs to the first floor where you will find the shower room with huge mirror, shower and WC. The lounge has exposed beams and stone work, a pleasant room with comfortable sofa, which doubles as a sofa bed, great for relaxing and catching up on your favourite shows on the Smart TV or just sit back and plan your next day’s adventure. Head up the stairs to the second floor where you will find the stylish bedroom with double bed.

Stepping outside, there is no garden as such but there is a courtyard area with allocated off-road parking for one car, there is additional roadside parking available and more in the nearby car park.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

An excellent cottage beautifully restored. There is a superb cafe next door another cafe and bakery opposite with a butchers greengrocers and pubs very close. Lounge and bathroom ares on the first floor and bedroom up another 3 quite steep steps so not ideal if you have a disability but other than that it's perfect. Parking in Bampton is difficult Read morebut there is a space with the cottage but challenging with a large car. Parking in the nearby car parks is however by voluntary donation of 50p Hide

Location for being within the town was great. The advice for backing into the courtyard was taken and sound. The arrangement within the cottage was great for the two of us. We had no problem with the staircase, i.e. there is a stair case.

Whats not to like a lovely cottage equipped with everything you need. As recommended it is best to reverse into courtyard to park in allocated space. Enjoyed our stay

Amazing place. Going through the door you step from the 19th century in to the 21st century. A kitchen with everything, induction hob, fridge and freezer, dishwasher, washing machine etc. Upstairs lounge with Smart TV, Shower room with rain option. Constant pressure hot water. Vast mirror. Comfortable bed and loads of storage space in built-in wardRead morerobes. Real village shops and award winning pub 200 yards away. Hide

A beautiful cottage in a lovely little village, decorated superbly with everything thought of. The colour scheme was amazing & all matched perfectly. The village has some good pubs, restaurants, shops & excellent chippy!
