This property is one of two lodges set in a delightful orchard in the village of Talgarth, in the Brecon Beacons National Park. The property has splendid views and is an easy walk to the village pubs and shops, and a restored watermill. Only a short drive away is the ever-popular, town of books, Hay-on-Wye. The property is a short drive to some local beauty spots such as Llangorse Lake and Pwll-y-Wrach Nature Reserve, offering super walks along with Mid-Wales' highest mountain Pen-Y-Fan just a short drive away. For the more easy-going guests, there are some lovely market towns such as Crickhowell and Brecon, both within easy reach. There is plenty to see and do during the day, such as walking, mountain biking, climbing, kayaking, fishing and horse riding, before a bit of stargazing in the evening.

Follow the stepped pathway through the orchard to the lodge, where you will find the entrance hall and a handy utility area with washing machine, tumble dryer and freezer. From here you can access a light and airy super-king-size zip-and-link bedroom (which can be made up as a twin on request) with lovely views. Venture down a couple of steps and discover the warm and cosy open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. The contemporary kitchen has an electric oven and an induction hob, fridge, microwave and dishwasher. A dining table sits between the lounge and kitchen areas. The lounge area has a stylish sofa and chairs, Smart TV and floor to ceiling windows, to take in the fabulous surroundings. From the kitchen area through an internal hallway you will find the shower room with large waterfall shower and WC. And completing the accommodation is a pretty king-size bedroom. This is a fantastic residence, with cosy underfloor heating throughout, making this an ideal retreat perfect for couples and families all year round.

Outside there is a private decked area, overlooking the orchard, stream and woodland beyond, with furniture and BBQ for some al fresco dining during the spring and summer months, along with your own wood-fired hot tub. A simply stunning retreat with off-road parking for two cars.

Great location and facilities were exactly what we were looking for. Views from the property were fantastic and there is even a stream at the bottom of the garden. A bit hard to find, and a walk down some steps with all your baggage from the car, but overall a great property.

Apple Tree Lodge is stunning, the perfect place to switch off. The attention to detail is excellent. We had a wonderful time, it was a wrench to go out for the day to explore but well worth it - there are lots of walks and activities nearby, plenty of great places to eat and the local shops were well stocked. We are already planning our return trip

The perfect lodge for a little hiking holiday! It was beautiful and we enjoyed snowy views from inside the lodge, watching sunsets, sunrises and the little birds eating the apples from the trees. We loved it so much and really enjoyed the village it was close to. It had everything we needed and was completely perfect. Would definitely return.

Very good cottage with good equipment. However, since we were there during a heat period, there was no sun protection for the terrace. Likewise, sun protection would be useful for the large windows.

Overall the cottage is wonderful with use of a hot tub and in a lovely location. Perhaps there should be a gate at the top of the steps to prevent the dogs from going up near the cars. I would recommend the property because hopefully it was just a blip with the cleanliness.

A lovely property in a lovely location. The property is decorated to a high standard and very comfortable beds/bedding it was spotlessly clean. The location was lovely and it felt we we far from home but only an hour away. The only difficulty was the access for my elderly mother as the steps down were a struggle for her.
