This superb holiday cottage is located deep in the countryside opposite a working dairy farm. A short drive from the Cornwall border, the cottage is a great place from which to explore both counties.

This property is surrounded by beautiful farmland and is located only five miles from the Devon/Cornwall border. Guests are welcome to take walks though the ten-acre farmland which has well kept grass paths around the farm boundary, river and lake. By prior arrangement, children can collect the eggs from the free range hens and also feed the chickens. The North Devon coastline is a short drive away with its sandy beaches and rocky shorelines. Visitors can relax on the beach or walk the coastal path to enjoy beautiful sea views. The popular tourist locations of Hartland Quay and the pretty village of Clovelly are also nearby. Families can enjoy a day out at attractions such as The Milky Way, The Big Sheep, Tapeley Park and RHS Rosemoor Gardens.

The property is approached by a gravel path and adjoins the owner’s farmhouse. The lounge area has a TV, Blu-ray, DVD, Freeview, and iPod docking station. A selection of DVDs and board games are also available.

Heating is provided by a wood burner (first basket of logs included). The dining room has a table and seating for four people. The kitchen is accessible from the diner down four steep cottage style steps, it is equipped with an electric oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher and fridge/freezer. The family size bathroom is located off the kitchen, with shower over bath, WC and washer/dryer in a separate cupboard, that is accessed by a couple of steps. There is one double bedroom with a TV and a large en-suite shower room and WC, plus one twin bedroom with zip-and-link beds (which can be made into a king on request).

Outside the property is a fully enclosed private garden with table, chairs and a BBQ area. The garden is accessed from the back door and captures the sun during the afternoon and evening. There are also steps leading up to grassed area with a private gate allowing access to the owner’s land. Guests’ dogs are allowed to run free over the owner’s fields, and visitors also have use of a giant outdoor chess set. There is a fishing lake on site, guests will need to bring their own rods. Ample off-road parking is provided.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Excellent location for a very relaxing break , star gazing was the best I have seen for decades . Fabulous if you bring your dog as the grounds are extensive and your hound can run off-lead. Your hosts , James and Penny are lovely people , keen to make your stay as happy as possible , but not at all intrusive...happy to recommend this cottage.

Fabulous place and property ideal for families, couples and brilliant for dogs as it has its own mini country park feel with walk ways around the land, fishing pool, river and country side.

A warm welcome greated us on arrival. The cottage was perfect for us. Very comfortable, clean and warm (Loved the woodburner). Beautiful surroundings to walk the dog and watch the wildlife on James and Penny's land. The weather could have been better but we seemed to dodge the rain when out and about. Would recommend a visit to Bude, Westward Ho! aRead morend a stroll on Woolacombe beach. We would highly recommend this gem and it's a credit to the owners . We really enjoyed our stay. We chose this cottage especially for the description on suitably to bring our dogs and it didnt disappoint. There is a pretty enclosed garden with table and chairs and also the use of the surrounding grounds with a river and a lake. The dogs loved it and so did we. What a beautiful cottage! Penny and James were very welcoming, we were left to our own devices but penny and James were there if we needed any help or advise. The cottage was perfect and had everything that we needed including a dishwasher and washing machine. Tea, coffee, sugar, milk, bread and butter were there. Beautiful surroundings. Jenny and James have a lovely cosy cottage. It was perfect for me my husband son and dog. After just a day , we felt we had been there for ages. It felt like our home .
