Delightful light-filled property offering spacious accommodation for seven guests, situated in the village of Langton Matravers on Dorset’s Isle of Purbeck peninsula, within walking distance of the coast.

This property is located in the pretty village of Langton Matravers, within walking distance of the village pub, shop, and church. There is even a small museum in the village, which is dedicated to the role that the local Purbeck stone has played in the area over the centuries. Guests with younger children may like to pay a visit to Putlake Adventure Farm, a small farm with friendly animals, playgrounds, and an indoor soft play. Beach-lovers have a choice of fantastic beaches with Swanage lying only two miles from the property, and the expansive sands at Studland which are maintained by the National Trust.

The first thing that guests will notice when they arrive at this cottage is the incredible sense of space and light that is afforded thanks to the large windows which offer far-reaching views across the surrounding countryside. The property offers plenty of space to relax and unwind, either in the spacious lounge/diner with its TV/DVD and flame-effect gas fire, or in the sunny garden room where views over the garden can be enjoyed, perhaps whilst catching up with the newspapers or a good book. Moving through to the kitchen, guests will find everything they need to make themselves feel at home, including an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, and tumble dryer. Two of the property’s bedrooms can also be found on the ground floor, a king-size room and a pleasant twin. Next to one of these bedrooms there is a shower room with shower and WC, whilst next to the other there is a wet room with a dual-headed shower and WC. The remaining two bedrooms are situated on the first floor, the first of these being a king-size room, and the other a restful single room, whilst the bathroom on this floor offers a bath and WC.

Outside, to the rear of the property, there is a charming garden which boasts a pretty terraced seating area with garden furniture and a BBQ, beyond which steps lead down to a plant-filled sunken garden. A wicket gate from the front garden takes you into the little meadow and guests are welcome to explore and take a seat on the driftwood bench. There is off road parking for two cars on the driveway and a covered area for storing bikes.

Please note there is a refundable £200 security deposit for this property payable closer to the start of your holiday.

Lovely big spacious house, generous rooms, bathroom/2 shower rooms (one with rainfall shower, good shower pressures). The kitchen was well equipped and we appreciated the quality of it. We could not fault this holiday accommodation. Warm, comfortable, everything required was there, with quality equipment. Location is excellent, a bus stop obviously travelling in both directions was a few minutes walk away, leaving the car was a bonus.

Burr Bank is a lovely comfortable house and had plenty of space for the six adults in our party. It is superbly furnished and equipped. The local shop was useful and we used the buses so we didn't have to drive every day. The house is well situated to tour the local area. Overall we would highly recommend.

The house was delightful. It was clean and well equipped. The room overlooking the garden was perfect for sitting, relaxing and watching the birds. It was also extremely useful having the three bathrooms particularly having two young grandchildren. An ideal house for an extended family.

We really enjoyed our stay at Burr Bank. The rooms were all comfortable and the cottage had everything we needed. We especially loved taking a coffee in the sun room overlooking the garden and watching the birds on the feeder. After lockdown this was a welcome break, the owners were friendly and informative through text conversations.
