Traditional stone cottage, dating from the 19th century, offering attractive accommodation for six guests, situated in the small village of Kingston, offering views to Corfe Castle.

This mid-terrace cottage, which has recently been refurbished enjoys a pleasant rural location just two miles south of Corfe castle on the Isle of Purbeck peninsula. The castle itself is one of the area’s most popular attractions, and is over one thousand years old, making it a fascinating place for a day trip. To the east of the property, meanwhile, just a short drive away, the seaside town of Swanage offers an impressive four miles of sandy beaches, ideal for sunbathing, paddling, and swimming, and even offers the chance to hire canoes and pedaloes, as well as traditional beach huts and boat trips. Some twelve miles west of the property, Lulworth Cove and the iconic arch of Durdle Door, provide a wonderful backdrop for enjoying coastal walks, whilst the village of Lulworth is home to numerous eateries, making it a pleasurable place to spend an afternoon.

This traditional cottage sits in the middle of an attractive terrace and offers thoughtfully presented accommodation for up to six guests. On arrival, guests will be able to see for themselves just how much care and attention has been put into creating a sympathetically updated holiday cottage, with a wealth of period features. For example, in the lounge, a large inglenook fireplace and exposed wooden beams provide an attractive place to sit back and relax on the sofas, whilst enjoying a favourite programme or film on the TV/DVD. A warming wood burner can be lit in the cooler months of the year lending the room a wonderfully cosy glow, whilst there is also a wood-fired bread oven. On entering the cottage you are in the spacious dining room that offers the ideal space to enjoy family meals, moving through to the kitchen, guests will find a well-equipped space offering everything they will need to make themselves at home including an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, and dishwasher, whilst there is also a washer/dryer. The first of the cottage’s three bedrooms, a twin room, can also be found on the ground floor. Taking the stairs to the first floor, guests will find the remaining two bedrooms, the first of which is the impressive master bedroom. This room offers a king-size bed, as well as a contemporary-style en-suite shower room with shower and WC. The third bedroom is a restful twin room, close to which the main bathroom offers a shower over bath and WC.

To the rear of the property, there is a spacious, enclosed garden which consists of a raised patio seating area for which there is garden furniture provided, and offers far-reaching views over the surrounding countryside. Steps lead down from this area to the expansive lawn, which offers plenty of space to relax and play, as well as being home to a pretty summerhouse. There is dedicated parking for one car.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

We loved the cottage. It's comfortable and cosy with a large garden, fabulous views, and in a convenient dream location. It even has a good pub through the garden gate.

The setting of the cottage is perfect for anyone wanting to enjoy the beautiful Purbeck rural scenery, with views across Corfe Castle to Studland and Poole. The huge enclosed garden is magnificent and was perfect for our 2 dogs, with a sizeable raised patio. The layout inside was ideal for a family, with stone floors downstairs. Castle View is a lovely cottage, in a wonderful position. Plenty of walks to be had direct from the front door and good places to visit, try the boat trip from Poole to Wareham or Swanage to Poole. Wareham is a good town for meals out Pubs or Restaurants also has a lovely walk by the river. RSPB reserve at Arne is well worth a visit we have been 3 Read moreor 4 times when staying in Dorset. There is nothing to say that could improve Castleview Cottage. The position is perfect for those who enjoy walking and for those who do not the bus stop is just yards from the property. The cottage is superbly equipped and I congratulate the owner for the high standard of furnishings and comprehensive kitchen equipment.

Excellent house and the setting is perfect overlooking Corfe Castle. The house has been refurbed particulary well and feels warm and cosy, very well equipped and perfect for our family of 5 plus our dog. Lovely large garden and just next door to the Scott Arms pub, which while a little pricey, provided welcome afternoons relaxing in the sun. PerfecRead moret for walks to the coast, which we all recommend as the scenary is just spectacular. Overall we would definitely visit again, it's just idyllic. Hide

Perfect location. The best weve ever stayed in. Great pub on the doorstep. Cosy and quiet cottage with lovely master bedroom and en-suite. Downstairs bedroom is a bit pokey but functional. Dont bring your cat, you wont be able to swing it in the kitchen! A few minor maintenance issues that could be easily sorted. I would defo recommend for the locaRead moretion. I have stayed at Castleview Cottage in its idyllic location once before and would definitely stay again. Im happy with toast and coffee in the morning and dont need the temptation of a full English at a B&B. Its great to have a fully equipped kitchen to cook for yourself in the evenings too. Very comfortable and characterful cottage in a great location with superb open views from the cottage and from the huge garden. The living room was really cosy even on the wettest, stormiest night and with the best fireplace and log burner we've found in a holiday home.
