Attractive link-detached cottage offering a high-standard of accommodation for five guests, situated in a quiet location in the Dorset countryside, and yet just a short drive from Swanage.
This property enjoys a pleasant location in a tranquil Dorset hamlet, on the Isle of Purbeck peninsula. There are relaxing country walks to be enjoyed in the area immediately surrounding the property, in addition to which there are miles of stunning coastal walks to be enjoyed along the region’s famous Jurassic Coast, including to Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove, which lie within twelve miles to the west of the cottage. A fifteen-minute drive to the east, meanwhile, brings visitors to Studland Bay, a beautiful area of beaches and heathland which are overseen by the National Trust. For a more traditional seaside experience, head into nearby Swanage, where the wide sandy beaches is backed by cafes and amusements, and where visitors are able to hire deckchairs and beach huts as well as canoes and pedaloes.
There is a lovely combination of Purbeck stone and oak flooring downstairs with fitted carpets upstairs. The open-plan kitchen is equipped with bespoke oak units with granite work tops, a Belfast style sink, electric cooker and hob, an AGA (winter time use only from early November to end of March) microwave, fridge freezer, slimline dishwasher and combined washing machine/dryer. There is a very pleasant dining area with a pretty window seat overlooking the garden and a flat screen television; a separate very spacious and delightful sitting room with comfortable sofas and chairs, a large wall mounted flat screen television and Blu-ray DVD player, two large stone fireplaces with wood burning stoves and two delightful bay windows with window seats overlooking the garden. Stairs lead up to three charming bedrooms, an attractive single room, a pretty double room and a lovely bedroom with a super king size bed which can be separated to make twin beds. There is also a stylish bathroom with a freestanding bath, walk in shower and basin plus a separate WC. Under-floor heating on the ground floor. Enclosed porch for wet boots and coats. Wi-Fi internet is provided without extra charge and is generally of a good speed but it is a rural location and can be intermittent on occasions.
At the rear of the cottage there is a large paved terrace with garden furniture, a stone barbecue and extensive lawns with shrubberies. It is a wonderful place to relax with the most beautiful views. There is a pond and water features in the garden so children do need to be closely supervised at all times. Two cars can be parked in the drive and an additional car can parked immediately outside of the cottage.
Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.
