Property code: IC042

Detached cottage offering contemporary-style accommodation for up to four guests, boasting direct access to Bembridge Beach on the east coast of the Isle of Wight.

This property is situated just back from the beach in the Forelands area of the seaside village of Bembridge. The beach is a great place to relax, enjoy waterfront walks, and potter around exploring rockpools, crabbing, and paddling in the waves. There is a seafront cafe in warmer weather which offers delicious local food, as well as an interesting Life Boat museum which is located at the lifeboat station at the end of the pier. A public house well known for its lobster is also within a few minutes walk of the cottage. The village itself is home to several shops, as well as takeaways and pubs, and has a lovely relaxed feel to it. Due to the small size of the island, all the major attractions can be easily reached within easy driving distance, including The Needles, Blackgang Chine, Amazon World Zoo Park and Osborne House.

On arrival at this detached property guests are able to make themselves at home in the attractive lounge, where they will find two comfortable sofas, a brick fireplace with a flame-effect gas fire, and a TV/DVD. Next to this room, the kitchen/diner is a light-filled room with patio doors which lead out to the garden and is equipped with a gas oven and hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and table and chairs. The property’s master bedroom, a double, can also be found on the ground floor, as can a contemporary-style shower room with spacious shower cubicle and WC. Stairs to the first floor, lead to a second lounge, a bright room which has seating and a TV/DVD. The second bedroom, a twin with 2’6” beds, best suited to children, can also be found on the first floor, as can a separate WC.

To the rear of the property, guests will find a modestly-sized garden as well as parking for two cars. To the front of the cottage, meanwhile, an enclosed garden offers a relaxing place to sit with garden furniture provided, beyond which a gate leads to a grassed seafront area, which, in turn, gives access to steps down to the beach.

Please note there is a refundable £100 security deposit for this property payable closer to the start of your holiday.

Great place to stay. The cottage is beautiful and could not be in a better position for somewhere to eat, at the crab and lobster. Within a couple of minutes there are lovely beach walks.

The property was lovely and clean with a partial sea view from the upstairs windows. Plenty of books to keep you entertained on rainy days and the large additional upstairs living space was excellent.

Our home from home. This was our third stay and we have booked again for next year already. The new sofa and TV upstairs make a very comfy place to relax in the evening. We love the library and wish we had more time to work our way through the books. The location is great - so peaceful.

A very lovely property tastefully updated for modern needs yet retaining its historical past. It's facilities and presentation were obviously loved by many previous returning clients as its owners. The weekly changeover of linen was an added bonus and the " Fresh Start" lady was very pleasant to meet.

From the moment we walked into Driftwood we fell in love with it!!!! Had a lovely relaxing Christmas, we even went for a walk on the nearby beach every morning! And with The Crab and Lobster pub being literally yards away made our stay even more perfect. Lovely atmosphere, friendly people. Cant wait to book up again, thanks. Bett and Pete Bassett
