This property is situated in a quiet countryside location on Dorset’s Isle of Purbeck, within a few miles of the coast at Swanage to the east and Dancing Ledge to the south. Each of these offer very different seaside experiences, with Swanage boasting a wide sandy beach next to which visitors will find a swathe of cafes, kiosks, beach shops, and deckchair hire. Dancing Ledge, meanwhile, is part of the breathtaking rugged coastline of the Jurassic Coast, famed for its fossil-rich beaches, this whole area is renowned for its breath-taking walks with magnificent seascapes. To the north of the village, Corfe Castle is a popular day trip, as are Bovington Tank Museum and Monkey World.

The front door of this 18th century cottage opens directly into the charming lounge, a wonderfully cosy room with a comfortable sofa, a window seat, an open fire, and a Netflix-enabled TV. Next to the lounge, the kitchen/diner has been thoughtfully updated in a contemporary style and features bi-fold doors which allow guests to extend the space out into the garden. Everything is provided to allow guests to make all their favourite meals, including an oven, hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, and washer/dryer. A hallway leads to the bunk bedroom, a restful room with a beamed ceiling and cottage-style window, across the hall from which the chic and stylish bathroom is fully-tiled and offers a shower-over-bath and WC. The staircase which leads to the first floor is an interesting and unusual feature which has been salvaged from a ship and has a rope handrail. Once upstairs, guests will find the remaining a bedroom: a pretty twin room which has a chest of drawers and wardrobe.

Outside, the property benefits from a pleasant garden to the rear of the property which comprises a terraced patio with garden furniture and a BBQ, as well as a lawn. There is off-road parking for one car to the side of the property.

This cottage is in a perfect part of Dorset to allow you to explore the area either by leaving the car at the cottage and rambling around the immediate area or exploring a bit further out by car. We found the cottage to be very clean, and totally adequate for my wife and my needs. During our stay it rained a fair bit so we cannot comment on the outRead moreside space other than to say that when it stopped raining there was some lovely views and there appeared sufficient equipment for BBQs. A lovely cosy cottage with excellent views from the kitchen over the Dorset hills. Even had a bus stop nearby on both sides of the road! Very clean and had everything you would require for a comfortable stay. Peaceful and with friendly neighbours.

Would not recommend. The cottage is not as the description and in bad weather is dark and drab. Not suitable for very young children or older folk unless agile. Needs better lighting in sitting room as too dark for reading. Television doesnt work in bad weather. Requires more updating and refurbishment. It is very small and not welcoming. PositivelRead morey, it has good supply of hot water and good location. The tea and biscuits provided were lovely. Very disappointing property overall. Hide

Our daughter is tall 59 so she hit her head on the low doorways 3 times before she got the hang of ducking her head. She really hurt her head and ended up in tears. So website should stress not suitable for people over 56. Apart from the height the cottage was small & quaint and situated in a good location not far from Swanage or Corfe Castle. This cottage is not suitable for anybody over six foot. I banged my head many times. The kitchen is too small to seat and feed four people comfortably. The lounge is small and dark and the underfloor heating is patchy. The stairs up are hazardous especially at night (the toilet is downstairs) The patio is fine but the lawn(?) is awful and is the onRead morely feature of the garden. The patio furniture has been repaired many times. Noisy heat pump. Parking very dirty. Heavy traffic caused much dirt to car Hide

Fantastic location and views, very handy for the bus to Corfe and Swanage if you want a break from driving but there are no local shops. Very clean and ok for two people but it would be very cramped for more than two and you wouldn't be able to sit down for a meal at the kitchen table.
