The cottage is very cosy, and quick and easy to heat. There are books, games and ornaments around which make it feel very homely. The kitchen is well equipped - we didn't need anything that was not provided - and the dining area is nice and light, and catches the sun. The lounge has two very comfy 2 seater settees. The cottage location is very convRead moreenient, but it is close to the busy road through the village. However, it is very well insulated and what noise there was did not boither us at all. Hide

Lovely little cottage, very central for visiting the local areas. Kitchen had everything needed for cooking etc. Nice touch with a local cake a milk for our arrival. The only criticism we had was the settees were both in need of replacement very saggy and uncomfortable.

This is a lovely cottage perfect for a country side break. The local post office is very well stocked and the staff are friendly and helpful. The cottage is very clean and comfortable and there are plenty of lovely walks. The cake and milk left for us was a lovely touch. Kitchen has everything you might possibly need to use.

Stunning location with lots to see and do in the area, would visit again, only down side to location is the road front door opens out direct onto the pavement and there is non stop traffic all day long. It didn't stop us enjoying this lovely cottage.

As previous reviewers have pointed out there are several disadvantages to this property. It is much smaller and darker than it looks in the photographs and the sitting room is very dark and cluttered. The inglenook fireplace cannot be used as this would be a fire hazard as the property has a thatched roof. It is a long walk from the allocated parkiRead moreng space with heavy suitcases. The property opens out straight onto the footpath and is situated on a very busy road which has constant traffic. Hide

Lovely view from the bedroom window of the colourful garden and beyond. The bedroom itself is fascinating and comfortable. The kitchen/ dining room is really light and bright, contrasting with the lounge which is very comfortable but dark with fluctuating light quality due to close passing traffic. Penny Cottage is located on the main street through Corfe Castle, but you could hardly hear the traffic outside. It is deceptively larger than it looks from the street and has been lovingly cared for and updated with a fantastic kitchen diner and private enclosed rear garden (sun trap), a very comfortable home from home.
