Beautifully updated to offer bright and spacious family accommodation, this lovely cottage is a tranquil hideaway situated in a quiet lane in the picturesque village of Corfe Castle. The property is within quarter of a mile of a range of tearooms, cafes, restaurants, bakeries and pubs. Standing high on the hill, the castle itself is the magnificent historic focal point of the village and can be seen from the cottage. The wonderful sandy beach of Studland (8.5 miles) is an easy drive from the property, great for boating, paddling and swimming, while the more lively resort of Swanage (6 miles) can be reached via a heritage steam train service. Swanage is home to a lovely pier, Peveril Point, Ballard Down, Swanage Bay and Durlston Country Park. A wealth of nearby attractions include Lulworth Castle, Kingston Lacey, Monkey World Ape Rescue Centre and Durdle Door, all within 18 miles.

Stepping inside, this delightful stone cottage has been lovingly updated to provide light, cosy and airy accommodation with fresh, neutral decor throughout. At the end of a long day exploring the idyllic Isle of Purbeck area, sit back, relax and unwind in the spacious and airy lounge, which is furnished with plenty of comfortable seating, a TV/DVD and a welcoming open fire in a stone surround, perfect for quiet evenings in watching a favourite film. The cheerful country-style kitchen/diner is a fantastic room with plenty of equipment so you can rustle up all your favourite meals, which you can enjoy together around the sociable dining table which overlooks the garden through the French doors. Heading upstairs, you will find two pretty bedrooms. The first is a charming light-filled room with low ceilings, skylights and a sumptuous double bed. The second is a delightful bunk bedroom with French doors opening out onto a sweet balcony which makes a relaxing spot for enjoying a morning cup of coffee with views towards the castle. The bedrooms share a stylish and invigorating shower room.

We stayed here 11 years ago and enjoyed our stay then so rebooked Lovely old cottage perfect location however Poor quality furniture and fittings lack of bedroom furniture Excessive dog hairs. The property needs a total refit

A charming cottage in a very picturesque village well located for holidays in the Isle of Purbeck. There are plenty of pubs and restaurants to cater for your tastes and a convenient village store. The steam train to Swanage is a must, as is the Blue Pool for a walk and a leisurely coffee and cake. Perfect location in the heart of the village - ideal for exploring Isle of Purbeck and Jurassic Coast. Property was ok but some of the furnishings were a bit shabby. Lovely balcony in the 2nd bedroom but no seats to enjoy it. Large enclosed garden - ideal for our dogs - with a fabulous view of the castle. Great views of the castle from the garden and balcony and a quiet part of the village. Long secure garden for dog's with easy access and plenty of walking opportunities without the need of the car. Finally you never tire of hearing the daily steam train coming into Corfe Castle station. Nostalgic stay, enjoy life at a slower pace.

Plum Tree Cottage is very well positioned just a short walk to the village square and with an amazing view of the castle from its garden/balcony. The interior was comfortable but furniture did look a bit tired and worn. Ideal for hikers with its access to footpaths in all directions. Corfe is a real favourite of ours. Spacious and well equipped cottage in a very convenient but quiet part of Corfe Castle. A generous garden, fully enclosed if you have a dog. The log fire was most welcome during a damp March visit.

Disappointment started with no Christmas decs when we arrived. The lounge is dark and unwelcoming and people walking past stare through the window. Stairs treacherous as mantelpiece juts out onto stairs. Kitchen ok, but only one very large heavy frying pan. We return to this cottage most years. It has the added bonus of 2 parking spaces nearby and a fully enclosed rear garden. Its in a beautiful village with all amenities very close by. Its our "happy place".

Comfortable and good secure garden for the dogs. Would like more storage in the bedrooms. Also a mirror in the master bedroom near a plug socket. As I had to style my hair as did my grandaughter from the opposite side of the bedroom. Great location, very peaceful. Good walks close by and excellent transport facilities to get to Swanage

Perfectly located in easy walking distance of the village centre and all attractions, and a great starting point for longer walks. Parking space greatly appreciated as the car remained there the vast majority of the week.

This cottage is lovely. Well equipped and very comfortable and well maintained. The garden is ideal a peaceful sunny space, with wonderful views of the castle and perfect for our dogs too. We have stayed many times now and always enjoy the cottage and village too.

Been to Plum Tree cottage a number of times as the location is spot on and the views of the castle are amazing from the back garden. The cottage isnt traditional as in nice brickwork features or wooden beams but its fine for us as location is everything. A warm, welcoming cottage. Everything works, and the garden and back bedroom have wonderful views of Corfe and its castle. A real bonus is the parking space behind the cottage, and the many good walks straight from the cottage. We enjoyed our week here, as did Smudge.

Absolutely perfect for a week away near the beach and there is so much to do in Corfe Castle. The house is ideal for dogs with a completely enclosed garden. This is our second visit and we will definitely be returning.

Wonderful location with a view of Corfe Castle from the small bedroom. Having parking for 2 cars is a bonus in this village. The long fully enclosed back garden is great for dog owners and gets a lot of sun in the afternoons. We have a week at this cottage every year. It is definitely our favourite in the village.
