Situated in the narrow, stone streets of old Swanage, with only a short walk taking you down to the sandy beach, this fisherman’s cottage makes an excellent family base.

This Grade II listed, former fisherman’s cottage enjoys all the amenities Swanage has to offer right on its doorstep. It’s within walking distance of the attractive Victorian pier, a lovely sandy beach, and small shops, bars and restaurants. It’s not far to the Steam Railway, which links the town with the historic village of Corfe Castle. Further afield, you can explore Wareham, Poole and Bournemouth.

Step into the stone cottage and feel immediately at home. Curl up on one of the comfortable sofas and relax in front of the open fire. There’s a TV/DVD for your entertainment - perfect for rainy days or a quiet evening in. The kitchen has everything you could need during your stay, including a gas hob, electric cooker, integrated microwave, fridge and dishwasher, while you’ll find a washing machine and freezer in the utility room. Enjoy dinner as a family or group in the open-plan dining room. On the ground floor is a shower room with walk-in shower and WC. Head upstairs to the first floor and you’ll find a delightful double bedroom and charming twin, as well as another shower room with walk-in shower and WC. A second flight of stairs leads to a king-size double bedroom, which boasts beautiful views across the sea to the Isle of Wight. A folding bed (at an additional cost) or travel cot can be added to this room if required.

Outside is a walled and gated courtyard with garden furniture, making it an ideal spot for al fresco dinning or morning coffee. Within the courtyard is a raised area with parking space for one car. Children must be closely supervised in the courtyard as there is an unfenced drop between the parking area and garden.

Position is excellent, car parking very handy, cottage is nice and warm, it's difficult to get large suitcases up and down the narrow stairs, so take two small ones. Top floor could be difficult to those with disability.

Great cottage and location. Should have been cleaner. We would Happily visit again when there is a suitable ramp to the parking space (which damaged the car).
