Dating back to 1776, this cottage was one of the first noted dwellings beside the River Medina. Today it makes an ideal base for a retreat, boasting river views and plenty of outdoor space for you to enjoy. A nearby cycle path follows the course of the river towards Cowes, interlinking with a network of routes to the likes of Godshill, Sandown and Shanklin. It has plenty of amenities nearby, including a range of restaurants, wine bars, and a cinema and arts centre all a short walk away, and a pub just 200 metres from the cottage.
The large sitting room offers the perfect place to put your feet up after a busy day exploring, with a wood burner to add to the cosy, country aesthetic. There’s also a TV/DVD for you to enjoy on your evenings in. The kitchen has an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge, freezer and washing machine, while the dining room has a large dining table, another TV/DVD, and a second wood burner. On the ground floor is a WC. From the lounge, stairs lead up to two charming bedrooms on the first floor - one double and one single - plus a spacious shower room with WC. A further flight of stairs leads up to an attractive attic-style room with three full-size single beds.
Step out into the delightful garden, which extends right down to the river. Outdoor furniture and a BBQ are provided, so you can enjoy dinner al fresco in the sun. There’s bicycle storage, plus off-road parking for two cars in the drive.
Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.
