This delightful cottage is within walking distance of the sandy beaches of Colwell Bay and Totland Bay, providing an ideal base for enjoying everything the Isle of Wight has to offer.

Nestled on the west side of the island, this cottage lies within an excellent walking area. A coastal path leads south to natural local landmark, The Needles, and more walks and cycle trails run northwards to the attractive coastal port at Yarmouth. The sandy bays are popular with islanders and visitors alike, with plenty of swimming, boating, and fishing spots. There’s lots to do inland too, the small market town of Freshwater is within walking distance of the cottage, offering a good range of shops, pubs, restaurants and a golf course with gorgeous, panoramic coastal views.

This charming cottage has stunning garden views throughout. Most rooms are south-west facing, providing a light and sunny environment. The attractive kitchen is equipped with an electric fan oven, gas hob, microwave, fridge with freezer compartment, and dishwasher, a separate freezer and washing machine are available outside in an outhouse. Here you’ll also find a quaint breakfast area with seating for six - a great spot for discussing the day’s plans over your morning coffee. The large open-plan lounge/dining room is the perfect place to unwind, with an open fire that gives a real homely feel. There’s ample seating and a TV/DVD, so the whole family can relax together after a busy day exploring. In the dining area you will also find a woodburner, which is perfect for more formal meals. There’s also a ground floor WC, and a side lobby with washing machine and freezer. Upstairs are three lovely bedrooms, two doubles and one twin, as well as a bathroom with rain shower over the bath, and WC.

Enjoy the sun in the cottage’s south-west facing garden, offering an enclosed space to relax. There’s a large heart-shaped wildlife pond in the centre, and garden furniture on the terrace so you can make the most of any good weather with a spot of al fresco dining. The cottage is approached via a narrow driveway where up to four cars can be parked; entrance to the driveway from the road is narrower than the rest of the driveway. It is suitable for larger cars with a turn around space at its widest point, at the top of the drive by reversing into the garage which can also be used for storing small boats and bicycles. Kitchen was very well equipped, we baked and cooked in with no problem, wifi worked well, instant hot water boiler worked well - never ran out of hot water. Plenty of space for the four of us, bedrooms were all a good size and we never felt as if we were on top of each other. Very good location - we walked to Totland Bay and Colewell Bay several tiRead moremes as both very close, and longer walks to Tennyson Down, The Needles and Yarmouth were all easily reached. Hide

Beautiful peaceful cottage with a superb garden. The wildlife pond was a joy, and we loved watching the ducks each day. Romany was thoughtfully equipped, and located in a lovely quiet area. Very handy for the ferry at Yarmouth, and a few good shops nearby so that catering was easy. Only 10 minutes from Totland beach, and some great walks to TennysoRead moren Down and Headon Warren. This is a perfect base for exploring the island if you want to be away from the more touristy areas. Hide

The cottage is situated near to the village of Freshwater with local pubs of good quality in walking distance. It is near to the Needles - only a short cycle or car drive away. The cottage is warm and cosy. Great location to explore the island.
