A Purbeck stone, semi-detached cottage attractively situated in the lovely village of Worth Matravers, just a short walk to the sea at Winspit. This area of coastline is part of the renowned World Heritage Site, the Jurassic Coast. Footpaths and trails lead from nearby the cottage and connect with the coastal path and various bridleways across the Downs. Walk into Worth Matravers centre where you’ll find a pretty village green with duck pond, tea shop serving food, and the Square and Compass public house, renowned for its local ciders and wonderful views. The picturesque historic village of Corfe Castle is a short drive away, as is the small seaside resort of Swanage. The latter offers a gently sloping sandy beach, ideal for swimming and paddling. Guests can also enjoy ‘Punch and Judy’ shows, a stroll along the Victorian pier, boat trips, fishing, diving and a ride on the steam train.
Entering the cottage on the ground floor, there is a delightful kitchen with electric cooker and hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and washing machine. A lovely dining area with patio doors opens onto the terrace with views across the garden to the sea. The large open-plan living area with glass doors along one entire wall creates a wonderful sense of space and outdoor living, with the outdoor terrace feeling like part of the room. Comfortably furnished with cosy seating, Smart TV and wood burner, providing a lovely central focus for the room in cold weather. On the ground floor is a tiled wet room with underfloor heating, shower and WC, as well as a charming single bedroom. The stairs lead up to three charming bedrooms – a master bedroom with king-size bed, wardrobe and attractive Victorian feature fireplace; a smaller double room with king-size bed; and a twin bedroom. There’s a bathroom with bath and separate built-in shower, plus a separate cloakroom with WC. Please note that a maximum of four children per booking are permitted.
Outside, there is a stunning south-facing garden, which benefits from the sun for most of the day. Guests can relax on the terrace whilst enjoying spectacular views of the glorious countryside and watching the small boats as they pass by in the distance. There is a lawn surrounded by attractive shrubberies and pretty rock gardens. This garden is gated and fenced with outdoor furniture provided. At the front of the cottage there is another lawn with off-road parking for two cars.
