Charming clock tower, part of a converted stable block, sleeping two adult guests in a delightful two-storey cottage in the pretty seaside town of Ventnor, a short walk from the popular sandy beach.

This property enjoys a delightful location overlooking the gardens of Ventor Park. The town of Ventnor makes a wonderful base for a holiday, as it offers a wide sandy beach, attractive coastal walks, an array of shops, and an attractive botanic garden. The main beach is rightly very popular during the summer months, but a half-a-mile walk around the coast brings guests to the secluded beach at Steephill Cove, which is only accessible on foot, and therefore is a quiet haven from the main town beach. Due to the Isle of Wight’s small size, all of the island’s main attractions are within easy driving distance of the property, including Blackgang Chine, Dinosaur Isle, and the Garlic Farm.

A set of external stairs leads up to the front door of this well-maintained unusual property. Once inside, guests come directly to the open-plan living space which occupies the ground floor. In this charming space, with its wooden beamed ceilings, central staircase, and exposed brick walls, the lounge area has an inviting Chesterfield sofa, a warming wood burner, Smart TV, and DVD player. The dining area sits off to one side of the staircase, beyond which the rustic-feeling kitchen is equipped with a Belfast sink, oven, hob, microwave, and fridge with ice compartment, whilst guests who need to do washing are able to make use of a laundry service. The cottage’s bedroom, meanwhile, is a double room with built-in wardrobes. Next to this room, there is a shower room with shower and WC. Please note that a wooden staircase leads to a mezzanine area, but for safety reasons guests should not alight the stairs.

Outside, the property not only enjoys a sunny decked balcony with garden furniture, but also boasts a courtyard garden at the bottom of the external steps, providing guests with a choice of areas to enjoy alfresco drinks or meals in the evenings. There is parking available in the shared courtyard, and space to unload on arrival at the foot of the steps.

The Clock Tower was well situated next to Ventnor park and putting green. Ample parking at front of cottage with pull in car bay to unload the car. This is a listed building that was once the stables for a now demolished castle. It is quite old fashioned with has a large kitchen /diner/ lounge area. It is full of antique furniture and nick nacks. The two seater settee is not comfortable however the single arm chair is. The kitchen is reasonable well equipped however the build quality of the stRead moreripped pine units is questionable. There is an efficient water heating system. Nicely furnished house, 5 minutes walk from the sea. It is just behind a hill, so you just don't see the sea. If you enjoy walking, take the westerly direction. Fantastic beautiful route where you come across surprises one after the other. Had a wonderful week

Lovely situation cottage in shared ground, next to a stunning park. Close to Ventnor village where you can enjoy beautiful beach and a lovely pub called the SpyGlass Inn highly recommend food, children welcome.

Lovely cottage, quiet, great parking and short walk into Ventnor. Access by an external staircase. The outside area is nice and the balcony seating area very private. The cottage has all the facilities that you would need. Had a wonderful relaxing stay.

A nice quirky holiday cottage, lots of interesting items. The accommodation is basic which seems to be the way with holiday Cottages. The kitchen equipment is adequate which is important for self catering. The bathroom is smaller than the photograph suggests. Overall not a bad cottage.

We enjoyed our stay in the Clock Tower, it was a few minutes walk into Ventnor and the parking was good in the courtyard, we could easily reach other parts of the island by car and bus. We liked the quirkiness of the property, with unusual pictures and ornaments.

We absolutely loved it and would come back again. It was a nice walk, either by road or coastal path to the town centre. The people of Ventnor were amazingly friendly and we got to know some of the retailers/pub owners even though we were only there a week.
