A stunning 200 year cottage within beautiful countryside, enjoying open views to the Solent. Perfectly located for exploring the island, with plenty of things to do and see on the doorstep.

One of two cottages recently renovated, this property embodies country style and living. It lies within an excellent walking and cycling area, with footpaths and tracks extending in various directions, including to the coast at Wootton Creek, the woods at Briddlesford Copse, and Arreton Downs. From the cottage, there are lots of attractions within an easy 10 minute drive, including Osborne House - the home of Queen Victoria, Quarr Abbey, Butterfly World, and Robin Hill Country Park. The small floating bridge at Cowes offers easy access to the shops of West Cowes and to the countryside and small coves on the west of the island. The larger east coast sandy beaches of Ryde, Appley, and St Helens are also nearby.


The cottage is over 200 years old and retains many original features, including the stunning exposed beams and inglenook fireplace. Relax in the charming open-plan lounge in front of the cosy woodburning stove, the perfect spot for unwinding with a good book or a cup of tea. Here you’ll also find a comfortable sofa and a TV/DVD. There’s a small dining area and a lovely fitted kitchen, equipped with an electric cooker and hob, microwave, fridge, separate freezer, and dishwasher. Stairs lead to a charming double bedroom, which has a king-size bed and beautiful views across fields to the sea on the horizon. There’s also a bathroom with bath, overhead shower, and WC.


A delightful garden can be found to the side of the cottage, with lawns and shrubberies as well as a summer house. Garden furniture is provided, making it a lovely spot for relaxing and enjoying the open views. There’s parking for one car available on the gravel drive.

The cottage was very clean and immaculate. The hospitality was warm and welcoming. The location was very good, in a quiet turning but a short drive to the nearest amenities. It is close to Fishbourne and to Newport, so also very convenient for getting to and from places.

A beautifully restored cottage in a quiet location, right next to an antiques emporium so lovely for a browse around. The cottage is well equipped with a large comfy bed, and the summer house well positioned for sunsets and looking across the Solent to Portsmouth, I would definitely recommend for a quiet romantic break.

Pretty little cottage in peaceful surroundings. We were very comfortable and our hosts had provided everything we needed. The log fire was wonderful. The gardens were beautifully maintained and the summerhouse a nice bonus. The island didnt let us down, with sunshine on most days.

It is amazingly well furnished, clean and everything just as anyone would require. The location was perfect, with its own wonderful views across to the solent. What a find! This absolute gem of a cottage is even better than the online listing makes it look. Everything has been thought of, right down to the motion sensor light in the walk-in wardrobe. The cottage was idyllic, it was well presented with a perfect blend of old and modern furnishing and facilities. The owner visited twice first to welcome us and then on our last day to wish us farewell ( a nice touch). If you want a quaint cottage in a lovely setting Two Dores is well worth considering.

This is probably the best self-catering cottage for two that we have stayed in. there was some concern when we saw a previous comment about "dirt track" access to the property as our car is rather low. This comment turned out to be unfounded as the access road is limestone gravel so no problem.
