This idyllic cottage is nestled in a delightful village, surrounded by magnificent scenery, traditional, yet design features created by the owners to give this property a modern twist. The cottage gives you everything you could want to unwind and relax with views across magnificent countryside. There are a range of walks that you can access straight from the property and plenty of attractions within easy reach. Venture to the nearby village of Rothbury, which offers eateries to sample local produce and lovely independent shops to browse. Further afield you can explore Alnwick Castle, walk on the stunning beaches at Bamburgh and no visit is complete without exploring the historic castle there or why not head over to Holy Island which is of significant historical interest. Northumberland is one of the largest designated dark sky regions in Europe, making this a place to return time and time again.

Step into the property and relax in the ambient lounge with its lovely decor and cosy wood burner, where you can snuggle up on the sofa and watch the TV/DVD together. Here you will also find a selections of games, books and dressing up for the children. If you decide to stay in and cook, there is a well-equipped kitchen with electric Range oven and gas hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher so you don’t even need to do the dishes, from the kitchen you can head out into the garden. The impressive dining room is great place to enjoy good food and conversation over dinner with patio doors leading out onto the veranda. On this floor there is also a separate WC with a utility area with washer/dryer. Heading up the turn style staircase you will find three bedrooms, one super king-size - with statement headboard, one king-size with an en-suite bathroom with free-standing bath and WC and a twin zip-and-link (which can be made up as a super-king-size on request). Completing this floor you will also find the family bathroom with bath, separate shower and WC.

Heading outside you will find an enclosed garden and patio area with seating and a BBQ, perfect for al fresco dining.  Note this garden is not escape proof for very small dogs. There is also a covered veranda with seating and further seating areas to catch the sunshine at all times of the day, as well as a chimnea to sit around and enjoy in the evenings. There is also off-road parking for three cars.

This was our second visit to Tapestry Cottage, and I am so glad we chose the house again. The position of the house is idyllic - a quiet, charming village with lovely walks from the doorstep, inside the national park. The house is spacious, comfortable and well equipped. Great large cottage, plenty of room and great garden space. This is the best dog suitable property we have stayed in, treats, bowls, blankets,large enclosed garden. Cottage situated within max 30 miles (1 hour drive due to small roads) from most "tourist" destinations, which was perfect. The welcome pack is the best ever and much appreciated. LOVED this place, we have had a spectacular week here. The cottage is super easy to live in, excellently fitted out and well provisioned (amazing welcome pack). The 7kWh ProjectEV charger is the best destination charger to use that we have come across. Using the cottage's strong Wi-Fi, you scan the QR code on the machine and that enables Pay As YouRead more Go with a credit card - the price is reasonable too (36p/kW at the moment). We stayed at Taperstry Cottage for a week in July. The cottage is beautiful and has quite literally, everything you will need during your stay. The owners are very nice and accommodating. The village is lovely, the pub is great with very nice owners. Shop is pricey though. Perfect place for star gazing either in the garden or walk up to the castle Read moreat night. Beautiful house in a great location with very comfortable beds and sofas. Very well equipped kitchen if you like cooking, fab local pub and great walks straight from the door.

Absolutely amazing cottage and simply perfect location. This is our second stay at this cottage, and loved every minute as usual. Harbottle is a beautiful village, we have now stayed in the village 3 times, and have plans to return later this year and next year.

This cottage was beautiful inside and out. It is very well equiped and owners have thought of everything to make your stay comfortable, from a basket of blankets to use if chilly sitting on the verandah to a very generous welcome pack and hand-wash, shower gels in bathrooms. Great location for varied days out. We also loved watching the birds in thRead moree garden. The Star in had a lovely welcoming feel and good food. Had a wonderful week in this gorgeous cottage. Very well equipped and beautifully presented. Lovely welcome packs for both the humans and canines, which was very much appreciated. Lovely cottage, excellent facilities. Welcome pack was gratefully received after a 9 hour journey from Norfolk. It's a great base to explore Northumberland from, but also take the time to walk locally as there are some great hill walks. We didn't have the weather to sit outside, but there's plenty of space to do so and a secure space for the dogs. Beautiful house & garden. If you want a peaceful, relaxing location this is the place. Lovely village, very friendly. Local pub serves very nice food & doubles up as a handy place to pick up a few essentials. Loved it & would definitely recommend.

Lovely cottage and good for dogs well appointed and lovely owners. Only downside is the house building next door which makes it less peaceful in the garden.

Absolutely gorgeous cottage in a beautiful village. Loved every minute of our stay, as did our dog. Theres a lovely pub which does great food, staff very friendly and helpful. Theres a stream at the bottom of the village for the dog to go swimming which is lovely. We would definitely return.
