Enticing holiday cottage nestled in the Isle of Wight countryside close to Godshill and Ventnor. Sleeping six guests in comfort.

This lovely country cottage offers the best of both worlds because it comes fully-equipped with up-to-date fixtures and fittings, as well as retaining a rustic feel throughout. All of its closest amenities are found in Godshill, just over a mile to the west and home to tea rooms, one or two pubs, restaurants, and shops. The village contains Godshill Model Village and Gardens, which is one of the Isle of Wight’s best-loved visitor attractions. A few miles further south lies the interesting town of Ventnor. Ventnor boasts some of the island’s best eateries and a small sandy beach that faces in a southerly direction. Getting the best of the good weather the sheltered coast soaks up the thermals and during summer is a sunbathing hotspot. Stop by Ventnor’s Botanical Gardens if you like to see exotic plants and trees. Roud is within a short distance of the island’s major cross-country routes so you can easily connect with larger towns like Shanklin and Newport.

A gently sloping drive leads you to the property. On entering the property there is a spacious hall with a shower room and WC leading off it as well as a separate utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer. An inner hall leads to the delightful kitchen, equipped with an electric cooker and hob, microwave, dishwasher and fridge freezer, and to a large sitting room with windows overlooking the lovely garden, comfortable seating, a wood burning stove and a large TV and DVD player allowing for cosy evenings together. Three steps lead down to a lovely dining room with a door opening onto a patio in the garden. From the drive, a gate leads into a fenced front garden. The handy kitchen comes fully-equipped with an electric oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher, and a fridge/freezer. There is a separate utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer. Also, on the ground floor is the bathroom, containing a shower and WC. Upstairs on the first floor you will find the cottages’ three bedrooms: one double, one twin, and one bunkroom (which is spacious enough to accommodate an adult on the lower bed.) Nearby on the first floor is a bathroom with bath and WC for convenience.

Step outside and you will find the charming back garden with an enclosed lawn. Similarly, the front garden has a lawn and plant and flower borders. There is a parking space for one car outside of the property on the shared sloping driveway.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Please note there is a refundable £100 security deposit for this property payable closer to the start of your holiday.

This cottage is situated in the middle of the Isle of Wight. Thus all towns, beaches, etc are only a few minutes away. The cottage and it's surroundings is very quiet. For a relaxing holiday it is the perfect location.

Our family of 6 plus dog (4 boys 8-18 - WiFi was excellent!) had a very relaxing stay here over new year to escape London. The cottage had everything we needed to enjoy evenings in after exploring the island, which it was very well located for. Local villages are easily reached in a few minutes by car for provisions or eating out. A characterful and cosy cottage, spotlessly clean, with everything provided for a comfortable stay. The wood burner is great on a cold evening and there is off-road parking on the driveway. There is a self-check-in and self-check-out process, making arrivals and departures very easy.

This is a beautiful and well equipped cottage set in a small hamlet. It had everything we needed for a family of three generations (and a pooch). Would recommend this property as a great base to explore the island.
