A charming barn conversion full of character, situated on a non-working farm close to the Dartmoor National Park, the market town of Okehampton is a short distance away. The perfect base for couples and families to enjoy Dartmoor and the west Devon coast.

This lovely characterful cottage, set on a non-working farm, gives a wonderfully secluded feeling, peace and quiet with expansive views of the countryside and over Dartmoor. Just down the road is Okehampton, giving access to independent shops with local produce available for you to create fantastic meals. Okehampton is also known as a gateway to Dartmoor allowing great days out trekking on the moor. The ancient town of Tavistock is also worth visiting with a daily market and a regular farmers market. Alternatively, take a road trip to the coast and visit Bude or enjoy the surf at Widemouth Bay. With easy access to the A30 go west and take a trip to Lanhydrock House and gardens or carry on further to experience the Eden Project.

Upon entering the cottage, you step into the hallway which has a door to the ground floor WC and leads you up a couple of steps to the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. The lounge area is to the left and has comfy sofas, a wood burner to snuggle up in front of and where you can watch your favourite program or film on the TV/DVD and listen to your playlists on the iPod dock. To the right  takes you into the spacious kitchen/diner which is well-equipped with a gas range oven and hob, Espresso/Capuccino maker, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher and washing machine and a dining area which comfortably seats four. At the end of the day climb the stairs to the first floor where you will find the two bedrooms the first of which is a super-king-size zip-and-link (which can be made up as a twin on request) with en-suite shower room with WC. Bedroom two is a king-size with en-suite shower room with WC. Please be advised the property will not accommodate children under 10 years old. Spa treatments are available in the cottage via a third party including hot stone massage, Indian head massage and aromatherapy massage.

Outside and to the front of the property is a beautiful sunken garden with a deep pond and at the back of the property there is a private enclosed garden, decking with furniture and a charcoal BBQ, with views over fields and Dartmoor. You will also find a dog washing trough and a tap to clean those muddy paws and the owners are happy to offer pet sitting (by arrangement). There is covered parking available for up to two medium sized cars.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

The cottage was so well equipped you could turn up with just clothes. Wine ,milk & home made cake greeted us.

Lovely cottage, spotlessly clean with everything you could want for a perfect holiday. Nicky even went to the trouble of putting in a bottle of wine, homemade cake and flowers for our arrival, plus 4 dishes for water and feed, plus treats for the dogs. Wont place to stay in a great area. We thoroughly recommend.

A tranquil, home from home, very well equipped, beautiful location and the comfiest beds ever. Just a 5 min drive into Okehampton for local amenities and very ease access to Dartmoor and both the North and South coasts. Just gorgeous.
