Lydford Lodge was really warm and comfortable. We had a very wet week but were able to get our clothes and waterproofs dry ready for the next wetting! The kitchen area is well equipped and there is masses of crockery in the sideboard. The bed is very comfortable. On a dull day it is quite dark inside the Lodge - it could do with some brighter and bRead moreetter positioned lighting. It is lovely and quiet - we saw deer and rabbits in the evening and heard cuckoos during the day. Hide

Nice property. Not as secluded as we thought. Very dark inside but there are loads of windows!! Remember to shut curtains as you can be seen from the house gardens. But we did have a nice and pleasant stay. Would recommend this property.

We were a little unlucky with the timing of this holiday - Storm Dennis bringing a week of gales and flooding to this area, but this was such a peaceful, warm and pleasant cottage to come back to every day. The place is really cosy, everything is there you need but it has so much character and style. It is close to a main road making it easy to getRead more out and about but far enough away from it to be quiet and tranquil. We had a couple of young deer visit the garden several days as well! We stayed for the first week of October 2019. It is a single storey open plan annexe in the grounds of a large house. Comfortable, homely and well equipped, nicely located for walking on Dartmoor. Lovely view over garden. Richard and Wendy the owners who live in the house, made us feel very welcome. Several good pubs within reasonable distance for Read moreevening meals. We would particularly recommend the Peter Tavy at Peter Tavy (especially if you like pies) and the Castle Inn in Lydford Hide
