The traditional village of Tintern sits on the banks of the River Wye, steeped in history and home to a magnificent 12th century abbey that dominates the landscape. You are well served by foot with four village pubs, and a selection of cafés starting at the Tintern Station through to Abbey Mill, along with a children's playground. A mobile fish and chip van visits weekly and comes highly recommended. For local produce the village store at Brockweir is well stocked. A great base for exploring with easy access further into the Wye Valley and Forest of Dean, catering for all tastes with stunning woodland, cycle paths, mountain biking, Go Ape and Puzzlewood. For more serious walking, you have access onto the Offa’s Dyke pathway and the Welsh Mountains. And if you have time the many market towns to include Chepstow, Monmouth and Ross on Wye.
Situated along the road through Tintern village, with excellent links to nearby attractions. Take in the views across the River Wye before you step inside this traditional stone house, the entrance hall is great for coats and muddy boots. Once you’ve left your boots behind step into the lounge where you can relax with friends and family amongst the comfortable sofas and armchairs in front of the open fire, this room also enjoys a dual aspect with plenty of light and a TV/DVD. The kitchen/diner is also off the main hallway, most definitely the hub of the house with a large wooden dining table and chairs ready for a hearty supper. The kitchen is really well-equipped with a centre island offering space for food preparation, an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. There is also a utility room on the ground floor with washing machine, this also gives access to a shower room with shower and WC. So when the day is done climb the stairs up to the first floor onto a light and spacious landing where you will find three bedrooms. A king-size with wooden floors and views onto the River Wye, a double enjoying a dual aspect and stripped wooden floors, and a super-king zip-and-link room with exposed stone walls and wooden floors. There is a bathroom with hand held shower over bath, and completing the accommodation there is also a separate WC on this floor.
The cottage is set into the rock face and enjoys two raised terraces. Climb the wrought iron spiral staircase onto the top terrace, where there is a table and chairs with BBQ - a perfect spot for alfresco dining with lovely river views. There is off-road parking for 2 cars.
