This property has direct access to the beach at low tide via its own private steps. Polruan is an ancient fishing village famous for its boat building heritage. Perfectly positioned on the Fowey river estuary, which is a thriving centre for fishing, seafaring, shipbuilding and agriculture. There are two village pubs and a passenger ferry that will take you across to Fowey. Enter in the porch, the ideal place to leave your coats and muddy boots. Three steps down from this leads you to the kitchen area. Which is equipped with electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge with small freezer compartment and washing machine. Completing the ground floor is a shower room with WC, heading up the stairs to the second floor is the bedroom/lounge area. The bedroom has a king-size bed, DAB radio and stunning views over the river. Up a couple of steps is the lounge are with two chairs and a TV/DVD. By  far this room’s main feature is the views from all areas. Please note there is a curtain that can separate the lounge area and the bedroom area.

Heading outside there is a small shared terrace area overlooking the river with table and chairs, allowing you to take breakfast, a glass of wine or a romantic dinner taking in the river view with just the lapping of the tide to lull you into instant relaxation mode. Please take care on the steps when wet, as they can become slippery. Parking is available in a nearby pay and display car park.

The view form this property is fantastic we made the most of sitting out watching the boats go by and looking over to Fowey. It felt like we had our own aquarium looking down into the harbour to the sea wildlife (beautiful).

Fantastic location, provided you dont mind the very steep steps down to Rockbottom. Inside, the property is comfortable and more than adequate for our four-night stay, though Id rate it more 3 star than 4. The decor/bathroom could do with a refresh. Nonetheless, we had a very lovely time staying here, the village is quiet but extremely friendly.

The cottage was idyllic and perfect for a get away. Beautiful scenery and in a lovely village with friendly locals and all the amenities you need. We would definitely return to the cottage and to Polruan.

The area is beautiful and getting the ferries over to fowey was wicked. Make sure you can walk steps as there is alot to get to the cottage so please consider that. Bring cash with you as there's only 1 cash machine in fowey. Driving can be very tricky as the lanes are very tight!! Spent a week there weather was perfect and so we're the people. You need to be fit to access this cottage, and the village, which is very steep. However, it is well worth the view from all the windows - especially the bedroom, lounge and the small garden.
