Enjoy village life in this charming detached cottage which offers lots of space and comfort for a relaxing family break. Overlooking the village green and colourful Maypole, Wisteria Cottage offers a unique view from its prime location.

Take a break in the lovely Nottinghamshire village of Wellow with an abundance of things to see and do in close proximity. Enjoy the delights of Sherwood Forest, whether its walking the trails, cycling the tracks or swinging from the trees at Go Ape, the forest offers something for everyone. A country lane drive away is Rufford Abbey - a charming country estate with acres to explore, a lovely large lake to amble round and the all important ducks and other wildlife to feed. On the same country lane sporting golfers have everything they need at Rufford Park Golf and Country Club, and for those wanting to completely relax there is the Forest Spa at Aqua Sana Sherwood Forest a hop, skip and a jump away. Take a trip to the historic town of Southwell, enjoy tea and take time to visit the marvelous Minster. A little further afield, Lincoln and Newark host an array of independent shops and eateries, surrounded by historic charm, and each boasting a castle and at Lincoln a Cathedral. Wellow lies in the 'Dukeries' – the name given to the area encompassing the estates of four dukes – Clumber, Rufford, Thoresby and Welbeck. Here you can engross yourself in heritage, nature and fine country living.

Stepping into the hallway at Wisteria you kick off your boots, slip out of your coats and wander through to the kitchen/diner where you will find a warming Aga, electric oven and hob, microwave and fridge/freezer, offering everything you need to rustle up a meal for the family. There is also a kitchen table offering space to enjoy a lazy breakfast, and the adjoining utility room offers a washing machine and clothes horse, and accommodates a separate WC. The very cosy front living room offers a spacious corner sofa just waiting for you to curl up on with the wood burner lit and a good film on the TV/DVD or a book from the shelf. The property also benefits from a lounge/diner with formal dining table to celebrate that special occasion, a comfortable sofa and armchair on which to while away the evening in front of the TV. Leading off the lounge is a sunny conservatory with relaxing bamboo seating – a perfect place for that all important morning coffee. Heading up the stairs you will find the first bedroom, a single with pretty views over the village green and Maypole. Heading further up the stairs to the first floor you arrive at the spacious landing with a comfy armchair and a well-stocked bookshelf. There is a twin zip-and-link bedroom (which can be made up as a super-king-size on request) with lovely views over the green, Maypole and 12th century church. The third bedroom is a spacious king-size with convenient en-suite bathroom with bath, separate shower and WC. The final bedroom is a pretty double with the benefit of its own tidy washbasin. Completing the first floor is the family bathroom which too offers a bath, separate shower and WC.

Outside Wisteria offers a generously sized garden to enjoy, and a double garage with a pool table and comfy seating for some competitive indoor fun. You will also find a badminton and boules set in Wisteria's cloakroom which are great for enjoying summer days on the lawn. The patio with alfresco dining and seating in the late spring and summer months ensure an all-round country village escape. The cottage's drive comfortably accommodates off-road parking for three cars.

The cottage was very comfortable and immaculately clean. There was plenty of room for our family group. It has a beautiful garden. The location is handy for Lincoln, Nottingham and Newark. There are plenty of National Trust properties nearby. The Red Lion pub is just across the road and has excellent food and drink.

This is a beautiful house. We took the house for a family holiday with our adult sons, the size and layout allowed us our own space when we wanted it. The location is really quiet and there is plenty to do for all ages within a short distance.

Wisteria cottage is very comfortable and spacious, great for a group of people. There is plenty to do in the house (board games, books, puzzles ,garden games) and in the surrounding area. It's in an ideal position for the Maypole Festival.
