This barn conversion property is situated in the village of Briston, within walking distance of two welcoming pubs and several handy village shops including a traditional family butcher, a deli, and a bakery. Just four miles away, the attractive Georgian town of Holt is a lovely place to while away an afternoon, browsing the bookshops and having lunch at one of the restaurants or pubs. Just a few miles further to the north the spectacular North Norfolk coast has something for everyone, from vast sandy beaches such as the one at Holkham Bay, to tranquil nature reserves, and pretty seaside towns. For those with an interest in heritage and history, the splendid houses and estates at both Holkham and Sandringham are not to be missed and make for particularly enjoyable day trips.

Stepping through the front door of this barn conversion property, guests cannot help but be impressed by the impressive open-plan living space with its grand vaulted ceiling with exposed wooden beams. The lounge area is at one end of the room with the kitchen at the other, separated by a dining area which is dominated by a traditional Welsh dresser. The lounge area has a deep corner sofa for guests to relax on and has a TV, DVD player and CD player in the lounge, as well as a selection of games and books for guests to enjoy. The kitchen area is well-equipped and has a lovely country feel to it, offering an AGA-style oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, and washing machine. The first of the property’s bedrooms, an attractive double room, can also be found on the ground floor, as can the bathroom with its claw-foot freestanding bath, shower over the bath, and WC. A set of wooden stairs lead from the lounge area to the second bedroom, a mezzanine twin room which is set in the eaves of the property and, therefore has a sloping ceiling and some reduced head-height.

Outside, there is a private shingle garden which offers an attractive seating area with a BBQ and table and chairs making it an ideal space to enjoy alfresco dining. In addition to this, there is a children’s play area with a climbing frame which is shared with the neighbouring cottage.

A lovely place with character but on a busy road so traffic was noisy weekday mornings. Beds comfortable, place was well equipped and plenty of parking.

A great place in a very good location to explore North Norfolk. There are plenty of beautiful villages near Briston and an amazing town - Holt. The cottage is beautiful and the owners are very nice and helpful. There is a little private playground in front of the cottage so kids can play safely while parents enjoy a cup of coffee or tea. A great cottage, well equipped and nice space. Traffic could be heard but didn't bother us. The upstairs room was cute and good for kids but meant we had to be quiet downstairs..
