Stunningly styled lower-ground-floor apartment situated in a Victorian Sea Captain’s house, overlooking Ilfracombe’s attractive harbour.

This apartment is located in a breath-taking elevated position, overlooking the harbour of the popular seaside town of Ilfracombe in North Devon. The vibrant town has lots to offer visitors, no matter what their interests. The artist Damien Hirst has chosen the town as the setting for his large-scale bronze and steel statue, Verity, who looks out over the sea. For seaside-lovers, the Tunnels Beach is a fantastic place to spend the day, enjoying the beach and tidal pool, which are accessed through a network of Victorian tunnels. There is also an aquarium in the town, as well as the Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park, and Watermouth Castle, a popular attraction with its gardens and family theme park.

This apartment is accessed via its own set of stairs, which brings guests to the spacious terrace at the front of the property, which brings guests to the covered front door. The lounge is a spacious and light-filled room, with two sofas, arranged around the contemporary wood burner, a TV/DVD, Blu-ray player, and hi-fi. Double doors lead out to the terrace, allowing guest to enjoy the sea breeze during the warmer months of the year. The kitchen/diner, next to the lounge, also has access to the terrace, making it easy to enjoy alfresco meals. There is a circular dining table here, and a good selection of kitchen equipment, including a range-style cooker, with oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, and dishwasher. The washing machine can be found separately housed in the handy utility room. There are three good-sized bedrooms, which are all located on the same floor as the living space. The first of these is a double room, whilst the other two are twin rooms. There is a bathroom with shower-over-bath and WC, as well as an additional shower room with WC.

Outside there is a spectacular spacious terrace with Italianate-style arches, providing a stunning place from which to enjoy the harbour views and the sea air. There is seating out here, as well as a collection of pretty pot plants, which add to the relaxing atmosphere. There is off-road parking for one car.

The basement flat has a fantastic view over the harbour and out to sea - you can just sit and watch for hours! The equipment provided in the property is excellent, everything was available. The walk down to the harbour is lovely (only 10 minutes); to the main town centre is a bit longer - about 20 minutes. The walk back is all uphill though - energRead moreising certainly! Hide

Wonderful views and roomy , comfortable and very well equipped apartment. Close to all that Ilfracombe has to offer but the walk back requires a certain level of fitness.
