The lovely village of Great Ryburgh is ideal for exploring the heart of the Norfolk countryside. There is a Raptor watch point just on the edge of the village where you can regularly spot buzzards, hobbies and sparrowhawks. Nearby are the thriving market towns of Fakenham and Dereham, or you could head to the coast and discover the beaches and quaint harbour towns and resorts of Hunstanton, Wells-next-the-Sea, Sheringham and Brancaster. There are plenty of quaint villages to explore inland including the medieval pilgrim village of Little Walsingham. You will also be ideally situated for enjoying the beautiful Norfolk Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Among nearby attractions are Holkham Hall, Pensthorpe Natural Park, the Holkham Estate and Sandringham.

On entering this delightful country cottage you will find yourself in the light and spacious lounge. On the first floor you will find three cosy bedrooms: there’s a double room with a king-size bed, a twin room and a single room. You will also find a bathroom complete with a free standing roll top bath, double walk in shower, WC and wash hand basin. Please note there are some low ceilings, particularly upstairs.

Stepping outside, you will find a lovely, well-stocked garden which extends to half an acre, and backs onto the river,  lie in the hammock, or sit out on the decking taking in the lovely views and wildlife. There are shrubs and planted beds as well as a well-kept lawn. The garden is enclosed and access to the river is through a gate. There is parking off-road at the front of the house for two cars.

Cottage and grounds are stunning, but it does need some t l c as sofa and beds are uncomfortable, stained pillows, sheets did not fit on bed, and be very careful as stairs are very very steep.

Comfortable cottage with the river at the back of the garden. The website info said pub nearby but when we went to the pub it was closed. We were then told by locals that it had been mostly closed for the last couple of years! It also says in the cottage information book about the pub and that it serves food. This had a very negative effect on our Read moreholiday as I like to have a pub in the village I stay to avoid taking the car. It also mentions a butcher but locals say that's been closed for years! We loved the cottage, itts not a show home, it's lived in condition was more than acceptable to us. Well equipped in all areas, the garden is fantastic, we had our canoe with us and took advantage of the river location. I would cut back the undergrowth on both banks along the garden stretch and make a real feature of the river.

Comfy cottage with very challenging almost vertical stairs . Gardens are amazing on the river but access can be stopped if you have small children as no life saving equipment by the river . We were 3 adults so really enjoyed the garden. All necessary equipment is provided and we had an enjoyable week
