Overstrand is a small seaside village just 2.5 miles around the coast from the popular resort town of Cromer. The village beach is generally a quieter alternative to the bustling beaches in Cromer but, is nonetheless an excellent beach which is backed by cliffs and boasting a wide expanse of sand at low tide. A clifftop cafe sits above the beach and is a lovely spot to sit and enjoy lunch or drinks whilst taking in the fantastic sea views. There is also a welcoming pub in the village, as well as a handy shop and post office, however for a wider range of shops and places to eat, head around the coast to Cromer which prides itself on its lack of chain cafes, offering instead a choice of independent restaurants and coffee shops, many serving the local crab for which the area is famous.

At the heart of this attractive Victorian property is the spacious lounge/diner, a wonderfully light-filled room with a large bay window and chicly understated furnishings including two inviting sofas, a dining table seating six, and a warming wood burner. There will be no getting bored at the end of a day at the beach either, as there is an excellent range of entertainment options provided, offering not only a TV/DVD with Sky channels, but also a CD player with iPod dock and a fun Nintendo Wii games console. The kitchen is located just next to the lounge/diner and is equipped with an oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, and washing machine. The dining room leads off the kitchen and offers a table and chairs for four and patio doors giving you the option to extend outside. There is an additional fridge and freezer within the dining room. There is also a ground floor WC. Stairs from the hallway lead to the first floor where guests will find two of the three bedrooms. The master bedroom is a fantastically spacious room which has a king-size bed and affords sea views from the sitting area in the huge bay window. an en-suite shower room with a WC adds a much welcome extra touch to this room. The second bedroom is a cosy twin room, next to which the bathroom offers the best of both worlds, with both a bath and separate shower as well as a WC. The third bedroom is a gorgeous king-size room which is flooded with light thanks to the Velux windows and benefits from its own TV/DVD. The landing area on this floor has space to fit a travel cot which is available on request. Guests should be aware that this floor is situated in the eaves of the house, and therefore has some areas of reduced head-height.

To the rear of the property the garden is a great place to relax and offers a lawn as well as a patio which is surrounded by well-chosen flowering plants and comes complete with garden furniture and a BBQ. There is off-road parking available for one car, with additional roadside parking outside the house.

Cleanliness left a lot to be desired, very dirty windows, skirting boards, fake plants had so much dust on them and the kitchen bin (when we removed the liner) was absolutely disgusting, walls were all scuffed especially on the stairs, couldn't get dishwasher to work so we text owner, they never replied (just not interested it seamed) had to wash uRead morep by hand all week, grass and hedges little overgrown on back garden. The property is in a fantastic location. Felt at home as soon as we arrived. Loved the bright and airy dining area off of kitchen. Perfect for having our breakfast and planning our day. Our dog loved the safe enclosed garden gor playing ball. It's essential for is as he is a whippet/collie who likes to run and sometimes a job to get back. Excellent location we enjoyed a week away with our dog. Beach good for walks when tide out and easy to walk into Cromer. Avoid the cliff top walk if you have any walking difficulties. The house is lovely plenty of room to relax indoors and enclosed garden. Everything you need is provided including Sky Sports which pleased us so we could watch F1. This is the second time we have stayed at The Swallows. It is so close to the beach and has wonderful dog walks nearby, the house is spacious and comfortable. It is also easy to visit other places in north Norfolk such as Cromer, and Felbrigg Hall

This was our second stay at the Swallows, the house is just beautiful and the location perfect for our needs. The kitchen is very practical with plenty of utensils for self catering. We took long walks along the beach and in the surrounding area with our energetic pup, even managed an evening swim in October as it was still so warm. Great place to stay. Really comfortable and spacious. Lots of beaches for our dog to run on with the granddaughters in the area so its perfect place to stay. Lovely house with thoughtful things for children of all ages. Would recommend for a family holiday and would definitely stay again.
