Guests choosing to stay at this cottage are in a for a real treat, as it not only enjoys a tranquil village location in North Norfolk, surrounded by many pretty villages and hamlets, but it is also within easy driving distance of some of the area’s most stunning beaches. The nearest beach, situated ten miles from the property, is the wide expansive stretch of sand at Holkham Bay, a beautiful beach which is backed by cool pine trees and makes up part of the Holkham Estate. Just around the coast from Holkham the pretty harbour town of Wells-next-the-Sea also offers a sandy beach, this time with a string of colourful beach huts running along the edge of the dunes. For a different kind of day out, the historic properties of Holkham Hall, Houghton Hall, and Sandringham all make for interesting and relaxing day trips, or alternatively why not take a guided boat trip out to see the seal colony at Blakeney Point?

Setting foot inside this cottage, guests will immediately realise just how much thought and attention the owners have put into creating a welcoming holiday retreat. The entrance hall not only provides space for guests to leave their coats and boots, but it is large enough to be used a delightful seating area, with an inviting sofa pulled in close to the warming wood burner, making it a lovely place to sit back and unwind with a good book and a glass of wine or cup of tea. The lounge is located just off the entrance hall and is another relaxing space with a range of comfortable seating, a flame-effect gas fire and a TV/DVD. Crossing back across the hall, the kitchen/diner has an attractive country feel to it and offers a large dining table as well as an excellent range of equipment including a Range-style oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher, and another TV, whilst the washing machine and tumble dryer are kept in the separate utility room. On the ground floor there is also a good sized shower room with WC and basin. The wood burner in the entrance hall is double-sided and opens into the kitchen, whilst in the warmer months of the year, guests may wish to open the French windows and extend the space in the room out into the garden. Wooden stairs from the entrance hall lead to the bedrooms on the first floor. The first of these is the gorgeous master bedroom suite, a king-size room which boasts a Juliet balcony and an en-suite shower room with shower and WC. The second bedroom is another king-size room, whilst the third is a restful double room. All of the bedrooms have their own TV, with the master bedroom having a seating area with two armchairs affording guests the space to relax in private. The bathroom can also be found on the first floor and offers a sumptuous freestanding roll top bath and WC.

To the rear of the property, guests will find a sunny patio area which overlooks the spacious garden and is furnished with a garden table and chairs, as well as a BBQ. There is off-road parking for three cars to the front of the property.

This cottage is in a quiet location, as the village of Syderstone is about 8 miles inland from the coast and so is off the beaten track. The quality and choice of fittings, furniture and dcor in the cottage is very good. We all thought it was very comfortable and had been well thought out by the owner. We would definitely stay there again.

Toolmakers was absolutely stunning. Ideal location with great dog walking walks across Syderstone common. The cottage was equipped with high end furnishing and equipment. Spotlessly clean and the garden space was an added bonus. Ideally placed for fantastic beaches at Brancaster, Holkham and Wells. Would 100% recommend and we will be back.

The house was 1st class. It would be a great play to stay any time of the year. The garden is a fabulous entertaining area with the BBQ and garden furniture and the cottage really cosy for the Winter months with 2 lovely woodburners. Overall it was a home from home house. No expense spared none of the usual Ikea crockery, cutlery and furniture as iRead mores the case with other properties. A lot of care and attention has gone in to make Toolmakers Cottage a brilliant holiday cottage. Our dogs Ned and Ted loved the garden and all the walks on the doorstep. Hide
