Ideally situated in a charming village nestling on the Norfolk coast, this pretty detached cottage makes a fantastic base for a family looking to enjoy a lovely holiday in tranquil surroundings.

This delightful cottage is set less than a mile from Blakeney quay. Blakeney is a popular sailing harbour on the Norfolk coast, with a choice of excellent pubs, restaurants and independent shops. From Blakeney Point you can take a boat trip to see a colony of seals, and there are plenty of nature reserves in the area, including RSPB Titchwell and Pensthorpe Natural Park. Blakeney is a great area for sailing, bird watching and walking. Nearby are plenty of beautiful beaches and coastal towns including Wells-next-the-Sea, Heacham, Burnham Market and Hunstanton, and there are thriving market towns inland including Holt and Fakenham. You could also visit Sandringham, Houghton Hall or the 2,000 acre Holkham Estate.

On entering this charming detached cottage, which is built in the traditional Norfolk brick and flint style, you will find yourself in the welcoming and comfortable lounge. With plenty of comfy seating, TV/DVD and original features including exposed beams and a wood burner, this is an ideal place to relax in at the end of a fantastic day. Exploring further, you will find a lovely dining room with seating for six guests. Heading into the kitchen, you will find it fully equipped with a built-in double electric oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher and fridge/freezer. There’s also a washing machine kept in the nearby utility room. Large doors open out from the dining room into the attractive conservatory which overlooks the garden. There is also a ground-floor WC. Heading up to the first floor, there are three cosy bedrooms. There’s a double room at the front of the house which has wonderful views over the marsh to Blakeney Point. There’s also a twin room, and a double room which overlooks the rear garden. There is also a bathroom complete with a shower over the bath and a WC.

Stepping outside, you will find an enclosed front garden, and an enclosed south-facing rear garden. There is a paved patio area with garden furniture and a BBQ, allowing you to sit back and dine al fresco. Off-road parking is available for two cars. Although the gardens are enclosed there are spaces through the neighbouring hedges where a dog could escape.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Well-located house with a well-equipped kitchen and lots of space. However, it was cold on arrival and in the early evening when we arrived home from day trips because the only heating is by storage heaters.

The location of the cottage is excellent. It is on a busy main road but secure behind an ample driveway and a five bar gate. The cottage itself is rather tired and dated but as a dog friendly cottage it is absolutely fine. Towels, linens were all fresh and clean. Good shower, well equipped kitchen, secure gardens front and back and very spacious. TRead morehe sofas were not comfortable though. I would recommend this cottage to anyone with dogs, easy access to the marshes and all amenities. Hide

The beds were the most uncomfortable I have ever experienced. I can only liken the experience to sleeping on a cardboard box. The sofas and conservatory furniture were dirty and need replacing by something more comfortable. The chairs in the kitchen needed a seatpad. The bathroom taps have a lot of mould growing in the glass tops which was also preRead moresent on the taps. I wouldnt stay there again. Hide

We loved the location, secure garden and how well the cottage was equipped, (even a few toys, buckets and crabbing gear!).......no highchair or cot available. All beds were very comfortable with summer duvets and extra bedding available if we needed it. Plenty of space. (more than we expected) Lovely views from upstairs. Unfortunately dirty sofa inRead more conservatory (partially disguised by scatter cushions). We'd come again our children loved it. Hide

A good holiday house in Blakeney. It has three good sized bedrooms, an enclosed garden, good for children and dogs, and is handy for almost anywhere in North Norfolk. The property is always clean when we arrive and is reasonably priced for this area.
