Pretty crog-loft cottage with stylish interiors and sea views on the Llyn Peninsula. Set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, it’s an idyllic and tranquil spot to experience Welsh country culture and explore the coast and countryside.

Overlooking Bardsey Island, located right on the Wales Coastal Path and close to National Trust’s Plas Y Rhiw and Hells Mouth beach nearby coastal Aberdaron and Llanbedrog offer shops, galleries, pubs and cafes. Stroll along Aberdaron ‘s sandy beach with sailing boats in the bay, walk ancient Pilgrim paths to tiny churches and mystical Wells, visit the famous Whistling Sands at Porthor or head to Nefyn for the maritime museum and harbour. Abersoch boasts bistro culture, events, boutique shops and sheltered harbour. Pwllheli is well known for water sports, with the best modern marina in the UK, art galleries, shops and eateries. The Llyn Peninsula, steeped in legends of ancient saints and kings, is a finger of land stretching from Snowdonia into the Irish Sea with dramatic scenery, unique wildlife and plenty of attractions and activities.

Whilst the cottage is over 300 years old, the owner completed stylish and empathetic restorations in 2019 retaining exposed beams and period features with furnishings and artworks throughout to complement its heritage. The stable door opens into the kitchen of this cosy property with Esse Ironheart stove, electric oven and hob, fridge and lovely views from every window. Walk through to the lounge with the Monk’s dining table perfectly positioned by the window looking out to Bardsey Island. After dinner, relax on the comfy sofa and chairs by the wood burner in the feature fireplace, plan your holiday activities or lose yourself in a good book. There is also a ladder leading up to the crog-loft itself. The bedrooms are designed for a good night’s sleep with lovely sea views to wake up to. Choose from the spacious room with king-size bed, wood burner and a Japanese soak tub or the decadent single room with a small double bed sleeping one guest. Enjoy a leisurely shower to start your day in the large shower room with WC and make the most of this idyllic retreat on the Llyn Peninsula.

This 300 year old cottage/croft is in an extraordinary position at the very end of the Lyn peninsula overlooking the sea and Bardsey island. Its a couple of hundred yards to The Welsh Coastal Footpath; other footpaths and tracks are plentiful. No passing traffic and very few humans (lots of sheep). This is a delightful cottage in the most beautiful setting. Debbie, the owner was lovely and she had gone to a lot of trouble to make us feel welcome. We loved the Japanese soak tub - very relaxing. We came here for our wedding anniversary and it was the perfect romantic break. We didn't want to come home.
