Stroll along Aberdaron ‘s sandy beach with sailing boats in the bay, walk ancient Pilgrim paths to tiny churches and mystical Wells, visit the famous Whistling Sands at Porthor or head to Nefyn for the maritime museum and harbour. Abersoch boasts bistro culture, events, boutique shops and sheltered harbour. Pwllheli is well known for water sports, with the best modern marina in the UK, art galleries, shops and eateries. The Llyn Peninsula, steeped in legends of ancient saints and kings, is a finger of land stretching from Snowdonia into the Irish Sea with dramatic scenery, unique wildlife and plenty of attractions and activities.
Whilst the cottage is over 300 years old, the owner completed stylish and empathetic restorations in 2019 retaining exposed beams and period features with furnishings and artworks throughout to complement its heritage. The stable door opens into the kitchen of this cosy property with Esse Ironheart stove, electric oven and hob, fridge and lovely views from every window. Walk through to the lounge with the Monk’s dining table perfectly positioned by the window looking out to Bardsey Island. After dinner, relax on the comfy sofa and chairs by the wood burner in the feature fireplace, plan your holiday activities or lose yourself in a good book. There is also a ladder leading up to the crog-loft itself. The bedrooms are designed for a good night’s sleep with lovely sea views to wake up to. Choose from the spacious room with king-size bed, wood burner and a Japanese soak tub or the decadent single room with a small double bed sleeping one guest. Enjoy a leisurely shower to start your day in the large shower room with WC and make the most of this idyllic retreat on the Llyn Peninsula.
The peaceful garden and wildlife pond offer uninterrupted sea views towards Bardsey Island while a paved area is a perfect al fresco dining sun trap for the portable BBQ and garden chairs. There is plenty of space to store your bicycle and canoe in the barn, where you will also find the utility area with washing machine, tumble dryer and freezer, and some beach equipment for you to use during your stay. There is also private parking for two cars at the property.
