Charming cottage offering stylishly-updated accommodation for up to six guests, located just half a mile outside the Yorkshire village of Tockwith, twelve miles west of York.

This property enjoys a delightful countryside location in the North Yorkshire countryside and yet is still conveniently situated for exploring the local area including the historic city of York. The village of Tockwith is just 0.5 miles from the property and is home to two welcoming pubs as well as a village shop which is convenient for stocking up on essentials. To the west of the property, the spa town of Harrogate is a great place to enjoy a day trip, browsing the shops, taking afternoon tea, and relaxing at the famous Turkish Baths. To the east, meanwhile, York is equally as close and is home to the imposing York Minster, the Jorvik Viking Centre, and the National Railway Museum.

As guests arrive at this cottage, there is space in the hallway to leave coats and boots before continuing on to the spacious kitchen/diner, passing a cloakroom with a WC on the way. This light-filled room has been thoughtfully designed with plenty of space to enjoy leisurely meals together, with a cosy wood burner and all the equipment that guests will need to prepare all their favourite dishes, including an oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, and dishwasher. The washer/dryer, meanwhile, can be found in a separate utility cupboard in the hallway. A door from the kitchen leads through to the lounge where there is a comfortable sofa suite from which guests can enjoy views to the neighbouring riverbank. There is also a feature fireplace here with an electric fire, as well as an iPod dock and a TV/DVD. Upstairs there are three bedrooms. The first of these is a dual-aspect king-size room. The second bedroom is a restful twin room, whilst the third bedroom is a single room with an additional pull-out bed which can be used to accommodate an additional guest on request. The bathroom, which is also on the first floor, offers a shower-over-bath and WC.

Outside, the property benefits from an enclosed garden to the front of the property with a pleasant seating area, next to which there is parking for two cars. There is a garage available which can be used by prior arrangement for those who prefer to keep their cars covered.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

We have stayed at lots of cottages in Yorkshire over the years and this was the best. The huge enclosed garden was perfect for our 2 young children and dog. The owner was so welcoming and made us feel at home. The cottage was spotlessly clean and very comfortable with all the equipment we could possibly need. The cottage is in a great location for Read moregreat days out too. We were spoilt for choice each day. If you are a National Trust member we squeezed in 5 different places. We will be returning! The best holiday cottage we have ever stayed: extremely peaceful, beautifully appointed and immaculately clean and tidy. Vanessa was lovely- unobtrusive but there when we needed her.

We have stayed in a lot of rentals over the years and this is definitely the best we have stayed in .The cottage was outstanding everything that you could want and more!.the welcome pack (chocs/proseco) was a great surprise as was the garden an decking at the rear which had the sun till it went down.Vanessa was great ,friendly but not intrusive at Read moreall.would 100% recommend for a great break. Home from home with everything you need. It really has everything you need for day to day. Even milk in the fridge ready for tea and coffee which is already there. No need to pack washing up liquid or any of the basics for the kitchen. Brilliant stay I will be going back home from home. Lovely situation and dog friendly.with a big field to run the Read moredogs around in. Hide

Broad Oak cottage was really nicely furnished and ideal for our needs. The cottage was very clean and the wine and chocolates on arrival were a lovely touch! The location was perfect for our weekend, exploring York and Harrogate. There are great views of the river at the back of the house. It was a great find and I'd happily stay here again!
