We had an amazing break at the cottage. The location is excellent and we enjoyed walks and bike rides around the area. There are safe paths to cycle on close by and the scenery is lovely. The cottage is really well equipped with towels, crockery etc, even tea bags and washing up liquid. The space is perfect for two couples or a family of4. The owneRead morer was really helpful with directions when we bumped into him on our way out for a bike ride. Thank you very much for a great holiday, we will be back Hide

Perfect place to unwind, watching the river running literally next to the property. The cottage is very cosy and has everything you could want. Watch out for the regular visitor, kingfisher sitting on the garden fence each morning we were there. Perfect!

lovely cottage, cosy, comfortable and in a fantastic position right beside the river. Gervase and Lisa were attentive and helpful, quickly sorting a couple of minor problems. The cottage looked small from the outside but when we got in, it was a veritable Tardis, everything we needed was there and it was a very clever use of space. Loved it, highlyRead more recommend! Such a beautiful location, and a stylish, comfortable, fully-equipped place. It feels very modern and luxurious and we even managed to catch some fish from the river! We'd love to re-visit soon...

We returned here having visited a few months ago......so obviously we love the place! For anyone wanting to combine walking and fishing it is ideal (but waders would help), three decent size trout in the freezer! Again our hosts were most welcoming without being intrusive. The nearest pub has changed hands recently and for us the jury is out while Read morethe new owners settle in. Chatsworth House is walkable from the door and the Peak Railway runs nearby. Hide

Very clean and well laid out. Location on the banks of the Derwent was great and would have been enjoyed even more in warmer weather (April was a little too early to expect too much.) Amenities close by in Darley Dale and Matlock were ideal and central for many local attractions/towns/villages.
